Rooney last season was more inclined to pass the ball than to actually shoot himself and only until this season has he actually taking opportunities.

He was heavily criticised in the media as a striker, as england needed a striker not a mid-field player.

The new form started during the england internationals and he has commented himself his happy with his scoring form.

Why would I need to point this out to a united "fan"?

Is this the first season you have been watching him play? How could you not have known that Rooney played more like a midfielder last season.

The joke on this forum last year was Rooney should change his position to a midfielder. Cos he was setting up most of Ronaldo's goals. Do you even support United?

I'm talking about that specific match yet you talking what he did in previous season? Talk about dwelling in the past, I thiink it's time to move forward

I'm going to make a bold prediction for this game:

Man U 3 - 0 Southampton

Great game for Gibson and Welbeck :)

I must say I was least impressed with the three goalscorers!

Welbeck looks ok for a youngster and I am sure he might be one for the future.

Gibson did not do one thing right except for the goal, which he actually took quite well. After coming on, he misplaced every single pass and did not contribute anything at all.

And as for Nani. For me, once again easily the worst United player on the pitch (worse than Anderson and O'Shea even), until Gibson came on at least.
He just can't seem to do anything right. Has the same step-overs and tricks as Ronaldo, but they just never come off. He never beats his man and gets in a cross. Or even gets in a cross. His free-kicks are poor. He was very lucky that a) that poor Soton defender lost his mind and raised him arm to stop his freekick and b) that he was the 1st choice penalty taker

Woot - I should make more predictions...:D

Wellbeck looked OK. Gibson had his moments but he's not a first string player yet by a long shot imo.

Nani's disappointed me a little this season so far - but I still reckon he's a talent worthy of holding on to...

I am sick of waiting for Nani's talent to ripen or mature or whatever. Sure, it took Ronaldo a season or two to peak, but Nani is so poor and has been for so long I think it is time someone else had a chance in his place.

Funny, genius and I have been saying his pathetic from the start yet manu fans always wanted to argue his good...

well question is who would you have in his place on the left?

Nani aka Michael Jackson's lost child is and always has been a poor player. He just isnt good enough.

well it's easy to say he's not good enough but the question is who do you replace him with? At least he has some pace and creates some space for the other players... would you perfer Giggs to play the whole 90min? Would you perfer Ronaldo to play on the left and Park on the right?

Least Nani's tries to get some crossess in whereas Ronaldo (when he started) wanted to dribble the entire team :P

Sell him and purchase another player, like we have been saying for ages his a crap player rather cut the losses and get a better player in.

Ronaldo from the start had talent, nani has none.

Anyone really. :o

If Hargreaves were fit, he would fit in there nicely. Given the players currently available, I would rather have a midfield of Carrick, Scholes, Ronaldo and Fletcher or even bring in Tevez and go 4-3-3.

I really hope Hargreaves wold get back into full fitness... that guy has talent hope he's not another Saha case...

Yeah, he had an op on the one knee which would have taken almost the whole season to recover from, so then he decided to also have an op on the other knee at the same time. Just when he was starting to get good as well.

I was saying from the time Nani was bought that he is worthless.

Every week i had to hear how he must just be given time bla bla bla. The famous quote was always.

''Remember how Ronaldo was a few seasons back?'' Nani is hopeless, end of story.

As Supa said, sell and buy a better player for that position.
