True, but when a player cries foul all the time, they are going to think he is lying again, as anyone would, if he goes down again. The refs are not always well placed so they have to go with their instincts at times, and in those instances, Ronaldo will not get the benefit of the doubt because he falls for everything. I hear what you are saying. But not all players are going to make a huge effort to stay on their feet if they are fouled - that is just the way it is. I am sure Ronaldo knows his reputation proceeds him. It is something he is going to have to learn to live with, sadly.

please take off your rose tinted spectacles dude ,stevie G got hammered for 1 incident and you comparing him to Ronaldo the greatest diver in the history of the premier league ,at least gerrard has contact when he goes down but Ronaldo has the worst reputation in england for diving :sick:

A year ago I would have gladly sided with you - however he has increasingly become as much of a fairy as Drogba.

LOL dude. Contact? Have you seen the cynical dives Stevie G has made? There was even that youtube vid I linked in another thread.

Stevie G did not get hammered for one incident. The only reason he is not villified by the press is because he is English.
 
Even i admitted my disgust in Gerrards diving but you JUST CANNOT compare him to Ronaldo's antics!! You just cannot!!!

Ronaldo is the diving KING!!! Nobody does it more and better than him. That is fact. He falls down for almost EVERY single tackle made on him, then he throws his hands up in the air everytime.
 
Oh please enough already!! every footballer dives at some point when its to their advantage. Ronaldo is definitely not a serial diver-when he goes down its because of the speed at which he runs and the fact that other players cant cope with that and end up fowling him (you try and stay up when kicked at that speed-->at least he tries:p).
 
What really disappointed me about gerrard is that he criticised other players for diving then he did the exact same thing. Hypocrite.

And Ronaldo diving doesn't really bother me, it's the theatrics after the dive (kinda like Alono's drama after he kicked Lampard). But, one has to remember, he gets kicked a helluva lot. his legs are freakin' scarred.. One player that really really irritates me is Drogba, because he has such incredible strength on the ball, but most times he'd rather just fall and cry. Pathetic.

Yes most people ive and speed does play a part - but the amount of times Ronaldo has... fallen... as opposed to Messi (who actually stays on his feet, doesnt try, but does) is hugely disproportionate...
 
Ronaldo dives far more than Gerrard, diving and ronaldo go hand in hand.

The problem is gerrard is a hypocrite for accusing other players of diving but then does it himself.
 
I agree about the speed part, remember the foul Joe Cole had on Ronaldo when Ronaldo got past him and he just lunged (got a yellow for it) plus when Ronaldo got past Beletti he blatantly fouled Ronaldo...

But at the end of the day Ronaldo is a diver, simple...

Maybe so, but the worst from a moral standpoint is Drogba. The guy is like an OX and goes down as if he were the size of Zola. And Zola didn't go down much. Arghh
