The Man United Thread

Hahahaha. You mean yesterday's heroes
It's obvious that Barcelona does not have the finances that Man United have and so they are forced to use their youth. If we were a poor team, you would see the likes of Fletcher, Eagles(very highly rated) and co. all getting games at United. There are very talented players, but as I said in my previous post, they won't get the chance to play cos United is filled with superstars and so they are forced to be sold off to the smaller clubs where they can improve their skills. Just because Spain has talented players, that doesn't mean that their youth system is better - it just means that the players are more talented than English players. You can only produce so much. The rest is pure talent. Like some people will say - you either have it or you don't

That is the most ridiculous statement, you obviously don't have any idea regarding youth acadamies. Why do you think Manchester spend millions year in/out on their youth academy?
They unable to produce good players from their academy and its seen as a huge problem in the uk.Why do you think the pool of players that the England manager gets to chose from is so small?

Why do you think any youth that comes into manchester united is from another teams academy.

Real madrid have more selected players year in/out in their team than manchester can ever dream of.Their selected players win world cups unlike manchester's.

I am a neutral from a perspective of the top 4 clubs. MU out of the 4 produce/have produced the most young talent. Out of the premiership clubs, West Ham (Lampard, both Ferdinands, Terry etc) and Everton, would appear to produce the most young talent in the premiership. Liverpool look good but most of the "young talent" they produce is bought, either from Everton or from overseas clubs. Go on the Liverpool site and you will see that 70%+- of the juniors are foreigners.

The FA needs to put down it's foot and legislate that clubs must develop local talent and have targets, otherwise some years in the future, there will be very little english talent.

What talent have Man U produced over the past 10 years? Liverpool?

Real Madrid are richer than Man United. But theur youth system is better. No players are forced to be sold off.

I like the fact you say cos Spain has more talented players it doesnt mean their youth system is better :D hahahhahahah

Give it up man. You lose this debate.

You can laugh all you want, it's the truth :) You just got pwned ;)
Yeah, that's why they want to spend 100 million pounds on Ronaldo when they have so much youth to choose from  :o

Where was i owned? Refresh my memory.

They want to spend a 100 million cos they can. they the richest club in the world! Deal with it!

You are owned in each page, trying to defend a poor youth system :D

ROFL when are you going to start admitting to the facts and take off your goggles?

Why restrict it to the past 10 years. Liverpool claim the young talents of Gerrard, Fowler, Macmanaman, Garragher etc., but they were all Everton juniors.

MU produced Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, the Neville Bros, Butt and many more going back.

What have Arsenal and Chelsea produced?

After 92 till present is what we talking about. Nobody is disputing that era was great for United youth. After that, it just fell apart. Thats why they cant be classed as a great youth academy today.

Absolute zilch, that's what :)

So a team must not purchase any players, they should just take from their youth squad??

Another comment proving the point you should put us on ur ignore list as some of your comments on football are as useful as a one legged man in a arse kicking competition and its not worth debating with you.

Real madrid is one of the richest teams in the world if they think someone can contribute to their team they have no problem purchasing players for those amounts.

Must say I do not know much about Spanish football so difficult to comment on the comparisons. Maybe the point I want to make is that the vast majority of English clubs and particularly the wealthy ones, are not doing enough to develop young talent in England, which to me is a major worry. I could not sit in the stands and support a team with none or one or two British players like the poor Arsenal fans. It is much like supporting the Sharks (that was a bit of trolling for Shark fans!)

Ya but thats where its headed at the moment in the UK.Its a big problem that has come up in many debates regarding the performance of the english team (as they depend on good youth players coming up in the ranks) and the fact most big teams have high numbers of non-english players.

Major problem in the Uk. This is what the debate is about. The youth academies in the UK need to start spending more on grooming their players instead of poaching from Spain and Italy.

To my fellow MU fans ...

The beauty part in all this is that Manchester United are a greater team than Barcelona, and yet these Barca girls are trying to make Barcelona look great. Barcelona having a great youth academy means shyte all if they cant even produce the goods. all the boasting by them is worthless ...

glory glory MU ...

Exactly. Thank you for your non-Man United input. Now maybe we can put this 'debate' to rest.

Now that is some good stuff right there! What a LEGEND.

The Immortal words of our King Eric-"The Irish public should bow to the feet of Roy Keane, not slate him as he is the best player they will ever have to boast."

i can easily say best epl midfielder for 15 years and one of the best in the world.
