Speaking of Henry....Wuould you take him if he wanted out of Barca? You think he'd be happy to sulk on our bench behind Rooney and Tevez...and Berbatov?? :)

good question. with henry in mind, anelka's history comes to mind and how he has re-established himself. better thoughts come about as henry could be seen as a teddy sheringham...so I would say yes.

Ok, so let's put it on the line here. Summer has begun. Who will leave United and who will we buy?

I say:

Leaving:
Giggs - retirement
Scholes - retirement
Fletcher - back to Scotland or some 1st division team
Richardson - to whoever will take him
(hopefully)

Coming:
Berbatov (for a lot of cash)
Someone from Barca...(I vote for Henry or Eto, I'd even take Ronaldinho...:))
Those three unknown talents from South America/Portugal (can't remember where now) of which one is likely to be good and the other two crap :o
Gary Neville (back from injury to take damn Wes Brown's place back!)

What you guys say?

There is no way in hell Eto or Henry will go to United.

The media was going crazy about the Henry move, he said he would love to stay where he is.

Sounds about right - the United fans still hate him from his sulky arrogant days at Arsenal, so that won't be a great loss. Would be nice to have him on the bench just in case though ;)

LoL - he will walk into the United team with ease. What strikers do you have that compare to him?

Tevez? Rooney? :D

Seems like even Scolari hints at a Ronaldo move to Real.

SCOLARI OFFERS SUPPORT TO RONALDO

Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed he has given Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo advice about his future.

Ronaldo, who has attracted considerable interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid, is currently with the national squad preparing for Euro 2008.

Scolari, speaking at a press conference ahead of Portugal's friendly with Georgia on Saturday, says he will support Ronaldo whatever decision he makes about his career.

The Brazilian said: "We've spoken a lot, as for him I'm more than an older friend, and I've given him some advice.

"For me football is not about memories but chances, which sometimes don't present themselves again.

"Regardless of the decision he makes about his future we're here to support him."

Yes, I would start Tevez and Rooney before him thank you very much. And so would you based on your cirticism of his season when we said he was the most dangerous player Barca had in the two semis...

Ill never start Rooney or Tevez before Henry. Never in a million years!!!

I would start Eto before him yes, but not the toothles tiger (Rooney) - how good is a striker if he cant score goals? What is he gonna do, pass the ball into the net?

Eto would be great.
Saha out if a new striker does arrive.
Scholes will still be around and Giggs will more than likely feature in less NB games and prehaps the league cup.
Fletcher - hmmm probably being kept 'cause of his scottish affliation with SAF.

My feeling is 'fresh name blood' from SAF, like with Nani and Anderson. (We knew little that they were going to be bought and next thing, they are united players)

Also the CR issue seems to be the press' story while football is having a slow week. lol. I wish they would stop unsettling the player ahead of euro2008 and portugal's chances with winning it or putting up a good performance.

Some more Ronaldo news:

Luiz Felipe Scolari has told Cristiano Ronaldo to make the most of the opportunities that come his way.

The Portugal boss is currently preparing his troops for a Euro 2008 assault, but has taken time out to urge his wing wizard to seriously consider any offer from Real Madrid.

Rumours persist that the Spanish giants are lining up a record-breaking summer move for the Manchester United superstar, despite the Red Devils' insistence that the player is not for sale.

Ronaldo has made no secret of his desire to turn out for Los Blancos at some stage of his career, and his international mentor has now warned him not to let the opening pass him by.

"I have told him that in football you cannot live on memories," Scolari said.

"You have to take the opportunities when they come along because they will not come again in your lifetime."

Dreams

While the news that their star player is being encouraged to leave Old Trafford will concern United supporters, Ronaldo's godfather Fernao Sousa believes that the winger has already set his heart on a move this summer.

"I believe Cristiano has taken a decision that he is going to Real Madrid, but he is not going to reveal it until after the European Championship," Sousa told the Daily Express.

"Cristiano knows that Madrid are a club to which you can never say no. History shows that you can lose the opportunity, and for that reason he is not going to say no to them.

"There are very few people who can say they have the capacity to make their lifelong dreams reality, but Cristiano is in this group of chosen people.

"Cristiano has always told me that his objectives in England were to win the Premier League and the Champions League.

"Now that he has done that, he has nothing left to prove. He knows he needs a new challenge.

"He feels his experience in Manchester has made him stronger. But above all, he knows that a train like Real does not come along every day and he would be stupid to miss it."

Think about it. Who is really to blame here. Real are chasing him but why is nothing been said about his constant flirting with the media?

Seems like Ronaldo doesnt want to say no to Real Madrid. Says alot about United and the player.

He knows Real Madrid is a footballers dream club and he doesnt want to pass it up.

So much for United.

Forgot about Saha. Yes, he needs to go as well. We can't have a player that is fit for 10 minutes a season only :(

And we need some solid strikers to replace him :)

From the best starting 11 of this season, I would only change Wes Brown for Neville G and bring in a proper striker to play alongside Rooney.

My team for next season:

Vd Sar

Neville G
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra
(defence picks itself)

Ronaldo
Carrick
Hargreaves
Tevez/Anderson/Nani/Scholes/Giggs

Rooney
Berbatov/Henry/Eto'o

Why would you put Eto in there or even Henry!

Absolutey no way he will come to United. He has said in the past. The closest striker you will get now is Berbatov.

Eto might goto Italy, talks are in place.

Henry has decided to stay at Barca, the coach has said

The last sentence is an understatement. It has made him more than just stronger, and I still believe he has more to learn - he is afterall the 'new' figo, so leadership needs to be his next education level. Aslo, the 'train" - As long as Ronaldo keeps producing the talent, Real Madrid will always want him. United on the other hand might lose out on the possible highest value for him, but the return they gain by keeping him, outweighs this £100m.

Indeed it does. I think he'll stay. The promise of trophies every season under the manager who made him what he is today, will surely be too great.

Real Madrid wont necessarily chase him soon after this.

It seems to me that he wants to go. SAF should just shut him up, its his own fault the media is having a field day.

All im saying is why would a player be so into Real Madrid. He might just move on. Real Madrid is a bigger and richer club than United. Even Scolari says, move!

Henry will remain loyal for now like with Arsenal.
For defence, strengthing can come from the Alves/Richards speculation and if Neville does not prove his fitness soon enough - we have GN sitting on the bench :o
