Manuals are increasing in popularity because they are cheaper.


The best cars are almost all autos. Even the forum favourite agrees.

That headline is the definition of clickbait. The article makes it clear most people prefer automatics, and manufacturers are moving away from making manuals.
"Most manufacturers, even famous sports car brands such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, don’t make them at all anymore.
“There are a small group always asking for manual transmissions,” says Stephan Winkelmann, president and chief -executive officer of Lamborghini. “But we are focusing on bigger opportunities.”


The article says those who prefer manuals "remain oddities".

People buy manuals in SA because they are cheaper, not that there is an increasing preference for manuals.

I will teach my daughter how to drive manual.

There will always be a business case for manual in SA, our economic reality is that manual will be relevant for a long time to come.
