If I had heard that track when I was still in high school I may have enjoyed it.

But I now cannot stand that sort of passionless, heavy for the sake of being heavy music.

Also the drum sound on that track is awful, that with the almost clinical production quality leads to a listening experience that I cannot enjoy.

That opening riff reminds me a lot of Opeth. I see what you mean about the vox though.
