The METAL Thread

Basically because Slipknot does not fit into the Super narrow guidlines that are provided by the people posting in this thread.

dont get me wrong one in every 15 songs here sound decent, but they all pretty much sound the same.

Double bass drum, fast rifts death core lyrics, and most important to everything, a logo that cannot be read by the human eye.

this is why I dont post here all that often.
I listen to Melodic death and folk metal, and while holding the heathen hammer high is too offensive for the Rock thread, its not "hard" enough for this thread.

so listen to what you enjoy, talk about it, but let the neckbeard metal elitists go along their own mission. this thread is like a comment section on youtube. you can never make internet metal heads happy. most likely because in real life the people posting the most here probably listen to Bieber and 94.7 out of choice but post here to get internet points.

Slipknot are not metal - there is a nu metal thread floating around here somewhere - they can be posted there.

And then people complain there cause it's not nu-metal? I'll just remove the link, since it's so terrible to have something like that in this thread.

Slipknot is pretty metal man, don't categorize, don't be that metal elitist. Don't be that guy.
 
But they are no nu metal.

Plus what is the point? By putting the music in so many boxes we are all missing exposure to things.
Imagine if disturbed brought out an album that was actually good. Not just more of the same BS they have always done and we simply ignore it because it's disturbed.

Some slipknot songs are legit good. The heretic anthem for instance. Duality. Pulse of the maggots. Wait and bleed. All good songs

Back in my early high school days I used to listen to them - but my tastes have evolved significantly since then.

I still don't think they have any place being posted about in a metal thread.
