The METAL Thread

Trevor Strnad (The Black Dahlia Murder) has died, age 41. The band posted the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in their announcement.

**** man. If metal artists could stop dying so young that would be great. I had the privilege of seeing him and TBDM twice. He’ll be missed. RIP.

I can't believe it, I was reading the news while lying in bed...what a fkn shock.

As with many people, TBDM was a huge part of my earlier life. They were the band during Uni...so many good memories.

Sad day, will be blasting them today in honour...

I feel like you guys just ignored my request for more of the best sounding music :(

Edit: I've added Black Sabbath to my list

Megadeth had a few goodies. I still keep this one on my playlist...

You're welcome. This Phinehas album is just brilliant start to finish.

Eish, the first few Megadeth albums has some of the best thrash metal out there. The first two, with the amazing Gar Samuelson on drums, were fkn killer.

Yes, some good thrash in their earlier work, this the best I think: Rust in Peace. Metallica had Cliff Burton during that era. He had more talent in his pinkie than the rest of Metallica and Megadeth put together.

These 2 albums got bad reviews when it came out, but with time these have become neo-classical metal masterpieces. Loaded with Turilli passion, timeless classics:

Burton made Metallica, even after his death, his influence in the band was still there, and then corrupted by the others from the Black album on:
