lyrical content doesnt matter, Animals as leaders is 100% metal but has no lyrics.
Gojira would be labeled hippy rock if you only read the lyrics and did not hear the song and no one will argue that they are not metal.

sure there are sub genre's that some bands fit into better than others. and if you want to argue about what sub genre things fall that is all fine and well, but just remember the simple term, it is a sub genre of something.
Nu-Metal is a sub genre of Metal.
ElectronicCore is a sub genre of Metalcore, and that is a sub genre of metal.

if sub genre's are not allowed then guess what, this thread should be renamed to the Black sabbath thread because that is pretty much the only band that is metal and only metal. because they started the genre.

They are a primarily Electronicore band. Which, next to actual metal, is Euro-trash tier, and let's just be honest Electric Callboy is a joke/meme band.

I like the band, I just don't regard it alongside Opeth, for example.
 
As long as it’s metal (any genre or sub genre), and not alternative, rock, goth, etc, it’s perfectly acceptable in this thread. I listen to all of the latter genres, but they’re not metal, so don’t belong here.

I like metal specifically because of its many sub-genre's, permutations, and openness to creativity around its cathartic expression and aggression. And heaviness to me is emphasized by juxtaposition and contrast - not monotony. Not only in a band's capacity to change tempo and vocals, but also in how metal fans are so spoiled for choice under the same over-arching banner.

From party-core, to prog, to evil disco, to djent, to groove, to symphonic, to everything in between. It's a great space to be in musically IMO.

Anyone denouncing that can go listen to a vuvuzela all day IMO. :p
 

Quite enjoyed this latest one from Lacuna Coil. They've popped in and out of my radar for over a decade at least - easy listening. Notable improvement in production and quality over the years.

It is clear you do not know what metal is. There are so many metal bands with clean vocals that I like a lot. Yes I am a metal purist, and I am tired of non-metal spam in a metal thread. Start your own thread and call it nu-metal or alternative or the k@k music thread.

you know what happens when someone posts a song I dont like? I move on.
you know what happens when someone posts a song I like? maybe I leave a like.

you know what happens when someone posts some bad songs by a band I really like? nothing at most I go listen to the songs by the band that I do like.

remember opinions are like genetals. everyone has some, and most people dont care about yours
