The METAL Thread

Have a listen to www.fuelradio.fm
It's 24/7 Christian Metal :D No, not really gospel. Just bands with (all?) Christian members.

"Stay tuned for some double-peddal Jesus metal."

Yeah I'm not a fan of religious lyrical themes in metal no matter if they're for or against it. I have no problem with bands that are religious though, like As I Lay Dying. Just don't sing about it!

Ok so not sure if this is old news or if you guys classify this as metal but the old lead signer of Killswitch Engage, Jesse Leach has rejoined the band. He sang on their first 2 albums, you know, the epic ones.

Wow. I wonder what will happen to Howard. I'd really like to hear him with a heavier band.

Have you heard Killswitch Engage - Alive or just breathing.. Dammit I dig that album.

I've been losing interest in them lately, a bit too much singing and not enough shouting for my taste.

Yeah KE were one of my favourites a few years back. I'm intrigued to hear what they will sound like with the old singer returning - from what I remember he screamed a lot. Also, Howard Jones is 41 o_0

Wheres the link for this? I heard they created a new band with Jesse and i even got the first album. Its called "Times of Grace".. sounds similar to KSE but not exactly.

Ok never mind the link, I just read the wiki and i see... that is pretty.. i dunno, Jesse is cool but Howard is the most powerful singer i have heard in metalcore

aweh! new to the mybb forums, but not new to metal :P
Not going to read the whole thread, but I see you're talking about Killswitch Engage atm.
Tbh I never liked Howard as a vocalist, his voice was lacking compared to Jesse's
Jesse had a lot more emotion in his voice, and you could feel that the music was inspired by past events that lead him to that point. (Rise Inside, Numbered Days, for instance)
Howard, had more of a 'soul' sound to it. So if Jesse is coming back I'll be interested in their new stuff :D

Till then, The Black Dahlia Murder will keep me happy \m/
