A lot of those figures seem to be based on estimates and they include costs relating to oil-cost due to the wars.

You can't attribute those exactly to Israel ... and it MOST DEFINITELY does not mean that Israel has been funded with $3 trillion.

We were talking about the actual funding? Not random costs related to other countries being miffed at the US for supporting someone they don't like. McArthur's article quoted it as $97 billion ... which is a hell of a long way from $3 trillion.

Besides ... if you just look at the homepage of that site ... its obvious which way his opinion goes ... another anti-semitic ...

There may be a Dead Sea deposit of oil, now if Israel could get to that it would be awesome!

I'm still trying to work out what the issue with US funding is though? Hell, its the one thing that stopped an Arab occupation of the country over the last few decades, wonder what the anti-Israel group would have to say had it been the other way around :rolleyes:
 
OK. Your $120million is just as much propaganda. Direct military aid was about $2.5billion for 2007. Overt. Who knows how much covert. And that is before the hundred other ways in which the USA provides the economic heartbeat of the Israeli economy through loan guarantees, private contributions, preferential trade and so on. Without the USA it would quickly wither.

I still don't see what the problem with US funding is? Many nations benefit from it. Besides Israel has a GDP per capita three times higher than this country, I think they're able to support their defence force without much aid.

I checked - you are correct - the wiki article I posted did not include military aid at 2.5billion so I missed it. However, considering their trade surplus (=more than twice the aid they receive from the US!) and healthy economy, they technically didn't even require it.
