The milage thread

2006 Ford Focus 1.6Si
226 000 kms (writen-off in accident [Not my fault]):crying:
Only changed the clutch!

One does not simply kill a Toyota :p

I am at around 191k even through the car is only turning 7 years old this year.

Only the steering rack was replaced early in the car's lifetime before I owned it, through it is well know issue on my car.
Otherwise just 2 back bulbs and 1 front xenon bulb needed replacing.

This is on 320D F30.
Recently saw an invoice for a 660 000km service on a 2009 Gvt department Hilux. Checked its history, only major repairs have been rackends, front shocks and a few fuel filters. Still looked in relatively decent shape for the model and mileage

2014 Passat diesel, got it on 40 odd thousand kilometers, now on 118k km, only had basic services under maintanance plan, plan paid 105k service as well, battery replaced at 60k km service, everything else on the car is just like the day we got it still.

2015 Up!, got it on 30k km, currently on 92k km, basic services, at around 60k car went into limp mode, throttle something something replaced under warranty, further on nothing has given issues.

Would be interesting to see what milage you have done on your car vs how many issue it's been giving if any during those kilometres.

Opel Corsa lite. 196 000km still original just service with front struts tie rod ends and the timing belt changed. Engen still going strong.

Saw a 2014 Toyota Corolla with 625 323km. Company car and despite it being smashed like 5 times already engen is still sound.
435 000km ! ---- 2006 Opel Corsa 1.7 dti - Utility Bakkie, had it since brand new, still going strong.
Have not touched the engine or gearbox.

I have always serviced my own vehicle. Besides the odd wear and tear, like Inner/Outer CV joints, brakes, clutch, battery, engine and gearbox mountings, exhaust manifold gaskets, tyres etc.

2011 the starter was replaced, 2022 the starter packed up.

2018 Shell garage filled petrol in my tank and I drove off, they have insurance that covers everything, so I sent my vehicle to the dealership, had my injectors and pump recon(did not want a replacement).

Turbo and alternator has had an abnormal oil sweat, I refuse to change anytime soon, just washed and applied good grade silicon.

Alternator bushes seems to be giving up, when vehicle is cold, the battery light stays on until rev counter exceeds 1200 then it never comes on again. I would have changed it, but when I started stripping to remove an recon it, f*&% what a crap load just to remove, i just put everything back and was like nope.

2022 driving down south to wild coast, I ended up finding my vehicle with multiple fault codes and no power, when I popped the hood, a F*&%Fest of rats have chowed my harness right down to the connector housing. Towed the vehicle home, began to strip and repair the harness, took me a day. Now i dont chance it, I use the Liquid Molly rat spray(advice from a BMW technician).

2022 my nephew shoved a 50 cent coin in the CD player which burned out the motherboard, but I got that sorted.

2022 the Diesel ECU has been giving me the sh!tz, got cut off in the middle of the highway(vehicle switches off), only to discover dry joints in the ECU (solder points had hairline cracks - due to heat), soldered myself and its been going great.

Airbag light has been on since 2010.

Still has the original Windshield, Passenger and Driver glass.

Polishing the van too much has caused the clear coat to wear out, now im left with ugly patches. I will get a paint job done some time soon.

No accidents.

The unlock button on the remote has kak on me recently, I dont have a spare, that was stolen many moons ago with my gym bag. Need to cough up 4k to get a new set of keys.
