if it did suck it was because i'm capped and it was for short periods of time (which I can live with) look i'm telling you i'm happy with it and so are others we get the service WBS promises, this site was made because peopel were unhappy with broadband so of course it attracts peopel with problems looking for answers, however when talking to people on exosee we discovered lots of people get full speed when they want it, if you don't believe me just ask one of them.

and what do you mean "the rest of us" you dont' have iburst

I support u on this slim

1) I am capped and downloading at 122KB/s
Goody, you're still under the blanket of their entirely unmanaged capping system. Give it some time. They'll fix that for you. Enjoy whilst it lasts.

3) I have a feeling they might reset the bandwith counters anyway later tomorrow
Refer point 1. Besides, I have a feeling the sun may rise tomorrow.

4) I was told from someone at WBS that by end of year we might have 3mbit
I was also told that Pamela Anderson would be around to make breakfast tomorrow morning, along with the announcement of 3mbit speeds.

Disclaimer:
I am not sayign everyone is gettign results, obviously there are alot on this forum who aren't, but I am, so I'm happy so I can't say it sucks for me

Wow, that's a nice disclaimer. So, uhm. What are you saying again?

Yes, you're right. I don't personally have iBurst. Might I suggest some reading comprehension classes? I said I have access to more iBurst than you. I can see what it does when compared to other technologies. In fact, in quite a number of cases, Sentech is more reliable.

i'm saying that

1) you dont have iburst
2) you said we dont get full speed when some of us do
3) if WBS is incompetent as you say they are then what makes you thinkt hey'll fix the capping managment system
4) I'm of course saying I can only comment on what I know, what I've experienced, obviously you don't use the same criteria, which is cool

who am I? how do you know you have more access to anything than I do? how do you know that I'm not an employee planted here to sway opinion or the king of arabia for that matter?

Sigh, learn to read. Again. Please. I use iBurst in more ways than you could ever imagine. I use iBurst for way more than your silly little torrents. I actually use it in a corporate environment.

slimothy said:

If you say you're getting your full speed most of the time, then I'm saying you're lying, most of the time.

slimothy said:

Quite obviously, this is one of the most important things for them to get right, seeing as it affects their bottom line due to little torrenters such as you.

Obviously, you can only comment on what little you know. I'm glad you're so eloquent on that.

I'm just gonna agree to disagree seeing as I actually use iBurst, whatever I use it for, I didn't know I had to be in a corperate enviroment to have an opinion

oh and if I'm lying when I say I get full speed all the time, then I guess that means evryone on exosee was lying too, yeah maybe we all got together at the weekly meeting and I told em all to lie,

That, indeed might be a very good explanation. However, I've heard that iBurst actually do employ _some_ intelligible people. I guess we'll have to go with the "you're the king of Arabia" theory...

pity you don't hold the same true, anyways I bid you a good day, I forgot we're only allowed to talk about negative experiences on this forum, here I was thinking people probably wanted both sides so they could decide for themselves

You don't. But the way you're going off on these forums, it's like you're the iBurst demi-*** with zero problems, which by your own admission (in various posts) isn't true. The fact that nearly everyone on these forums have been experiencing problems over the past week just proves that you're an iBurst fanboi, or just too afraid to admit that there's problems due to the fact that your ego will be hurt.

slimothy said:

You are indeed lying, since you've yourself admitted in various posts that you're not getting full speed all the time, and that the service is unreliable at times.

So, I guess you bought iBurst purely for the peer2peer possibilities on their backbone then right?

Wrong again. This is a discussion forum. But let's try and keep it rational if you don't mind. You have had problems with iBurst. Your connection isn't perfect. Please stop acting as if it is. This forum is here to discuss broadband issues.

Not how "big" your noonies, or bandwidth are.

Slim, I'm afraid there's not much point arguing with the Rodent. He has a fixed view, which every now and again he takes it out for another spin on the Iburst forums. You will never change his mind no matter how much evidence you present.

He works on the basis that if "false" is repeated often enough it will eventually becomes "true".

So its best to ignore and leave him to his delusions.

i have said countless times there are problems in the last week, theres no denying it, but on the flip side the speeds at night this last week are fantastic even though I'm capped, so I can't complain, but yeah totally agreed there are problems and they may/may not be fixed tomorrow.

when I said all the time OK I should have said alot of the time, my bad, obviosuly I didn't literally mean every second of everyday for as long as I've been connected.

I didn't buy the modem for p2p, infact I hardly use p2p (with exosee I just chat and let people leech off me), however as a developer (and one working on a new p2p implementation) I do find p2p of interest seeing as it seems to be the way users want to get content (whatever that content be). I actually got the unit for work, I connect on ADSL (on someone elses expense in the day) and iBurst at night.

Shall we quote some of your malt-induced delusions?

And once you have it, it is also your responsibility to get the most out of it.

Now I'm rambling on. It must be this fantastic Ardbeg single malt I'm busy quaffing.

So to sum up, we can't just blame. We also have to put something in in order to get something out. Success or failure is our own responsibility.

Ultimatley, the problem IS YOURS and MINE, Not WBS's.

So if you want to sit back, do nothing, and wait for everything to magically come right, I can recommend a very nice Scotch...

You must have been really plonked that evening.

Thanks for finally admitting, that you can in fact, sometimes be just a teensy-weensy bit over-eager and plain wrong. The fact is that the service does have a lot of problems and isn't very reliable. Reliability is an important factor in IP connectivity. Raw download speeds isn't the only thing.

I guess being a developer on an important p2p project requires one to have access to topsites such as this too?

I know you're all drooling since if you're lucky the most you've seen is a dump, BTW thanks WBS for keeping FTP nice and fast for me

Yeah, I can see the heavy R&D work required to sort out those directories.

yeah i was watchign the user online list when you were trawling topics to paste stuff from gatecrasher and I, because obviously we are wrong, even though we have spent more time on iburst than you have, no question

oh and sicne we're being petty you should know that a topsite is a ftp, not p2p, duh dude, duh

anyways, I don't wanna do this, specially at this time, we're on iBurst, you're not so everyone can make thier judgements from that

Wow, you must have really failed "Reading Comprehension 101" or alternatively you just have selective amnesia. As I explained, I run a number of iBurst enabled SMME firewalls. I don't pay for iBurst. I don't use it at home. But I can see what some of my customers are getting from it, and it's pathetic at this stage.

so what, i could clean porches for a living, doesn't mean I know what a porche feels like at 2 am on the Autobahn
