The official Battlefield 4 thread

Where does everyone play? Maybe my timing's just been off but the few times I've looked all I see locally is empty/half full servers.

Infinite Retaliation server. Just have to excuse the admins on there, they are noobs.

Im still running through the "adjustment" period. I keep needing to tell myself I can't jump in, kill everyone and disappear...
I fail at that a lot, as when I see a large concentration of red blips, I jump straight in.

But I'm loving it. Didn't play much over the weekend, but want to try get accustomed to the maps this week.
 
It really does feel different to BF3, like a new game entirely.
I am enjoying it though, it feels almost surreal- I do things I would normally not do on BF3 (i.e c4 tanks) :)
Will still be playing BF3 for awhile though.
 
Anyone playing the single player? I got back to the ship where I had to take command & the hard drive, climbed the steps. Got sucked up high into the air, dropped and died ?!? Glitch?

lol ... I usually try finish the campaign. Took me about 3 months with Blops2, never finished BF3. Only because I feel an urge to make sure I get bang for my buck. But yeah multiplayer is where its at.

I dont think it shows full servers. On Friday night there were 1500 people in SA playing.
 
A few thoughts on the game:

-I am reasonably happy with it although its clearly a BF3.5 which isnt such a bad thing as BF3 was pretty good. They just built on it. Still no BF2 though Im afraid.
-Most of the maps are excellent and look stunning perhaps because I'm playing on Ultra this time around. Paracel storm, Zalmod, Hainan Resort and flood zone are amazing.
-While ultra looks insane I am pretty sure it disadvantages the player as the people hide in bushes etc. On low there is no bushes lol.
-Operation locker is the new Metro. Meh
-Over the whole weekend probably had 6 or so disconnects and each time I was doing so well :( Stats did not reflect.
-Jets are terrible. Boats are awesome.
- Levelution is cool
- Commander mode is welcome back but its not as good as the BF2 commander mode.
- Nobody seems to talk though in game voip yet which is disappointing. I think I only had one game the whole weekend where we were talking to each other playing as a squad.
- Avoid MWEB servers as they seem to be hosted on Pentium 2 233Mhz.

The boats are pretty epic! I love how the sea conditions change.

I had about 3 games with teamwork and heavy voip usage. I think its just a matter of talking and people will respond. Unless they dont have a mic...

I just avoid any servers with over 44 players ;)
 
I got the normal disc version. Is it R499 to upgrade to premium?
Stopped playing bf3 ages ago but enjoying bf4 a lot again

I could be wrong, i haven't bought it yet. If i buy battlefield premium for 499 does that mean the premium pack for 499 i won't need to buy? Thank goodness you asked hugo i was about to buy the deluxe version.

Shyte it seems people who don't have premium will need to pay 499 for premium. Wow they should have mentioned that or at least made it clear because i am getting the disk version tomorrow but i was thinking the deluxe download would be better but the deluxe version with premium is 998.

Premium is over and above digital delux or normal battlefield - So you need to buy both
