The Official EPL 2011/12 Thread

Either I'm on ignore with you, or not. I won't respond to you cherry picking which posts of mine you think need responding to, except to say if he's as crap as you say he is, you won't miss the racist much for those 8 games. Cheerio.

You aren't on ignore anymore. I changed that a while ago. Thought it was a bit petty of me.

Cool :)

1)He was guilty(on the balance of probabilities) of saying a racist slur, not of being a racist there is a huge difference.
2)Liverpool have won every game that Suarez hasn't started
3)Suarez hasn't scored in 8 games probably hasn't assisted much either.
4)I thought LFC were such a bad team they weren't even worth commenting on? What happened to that?

I don't think we will finish top 3.

EDIT: LFC is a work in progress. You can't build a team in a single transfer window. KD has to undo the work of Roy Hodgson and the previous owners. Why do you have such a problem with LFC? Seriously?

1. I accept that he isn't a racist, but I cannot stand the man, and the way that LFC fans have backed him. You don't need to be a racist to utter a racial slur, and whether it means what it means in Uruguay, they aren't playing there and it obviously had a different meaning to Evra, and he used it several times, according to the report. And not in a friendly way.

2/3. He scored recently iirc, but I get your point, he should be scoring more, especially with the fantastic positions he gets himself into. However, he creates havoc for opposing defenders, case in point: 3-1 earlier this year. Kuyt scored 3, but Suarez caused such a fright in our defence with his movement, that they became headless chickens. Hell, he scared Nani into heading the ball 18 yards backwards to assist Kuyt in one goal.

4. Sure, but if a Fulham fan said they were gonna make top 3, I'd comment on that too.

Edit. 100m is a huge investment, especially on the (mostly) dross that Kenny has spent it on. I'd be an ass to say that Henderson won't improve, but 62m for Carroll, Downing and Adam? Liverpool is supposed to be a big club yet they don't have one decent winger. Why? As for me having a problem with LFC, I honestly just used to participate in banter (except when I felt that the insults were getting out of hand) but this Suarez thing has really soured me on the club and Kenny especially. For a club to lie and make things up about an opposing player is really small time, and to do it in the midst of a racial investigation is filthy and disgusting, and it started with your manager.

good points Randhir. the club, kd, commoli, kuyt should have known better. as to your statement of getting good quality players, i.e. the club is in a transitional phase and not much of your classy players wants to come to a club 1) not in the champions league, 2)in a rebuilding phase which will take time, 3) that cannot guarantee cl footie.

I knew that Downing was too inconsistent and in the same mould as kuyt, huffing an puffing with little effect.
Henderson is a long term investment, so i will not judge him now after he has a few seasons behind him to grow as a player.
Carrol was a forced buy and we needed someone immediately to replace Torres and Carrol was in red hot form. so i cannot blame the club for spending the money on him.
Adam is a squad player and nothing more. thats all i have to say about him.

Besides who do you think should we have gotten and why?

Cool :)

1) Fair enough, he isn't my favourite person in the world either (biting, handballing, screaming at the ref all the time.) I think LFC fans have backed him because we support our club and nobody really knew what happened/was happening. Now that the truth has come out I think most LFC fans won't back him as fanatically. I also owe you an apology for the whole F*** Evra episode, I was wrong about that, I'm sorry :)

2/3)No further comments required here :)

EDIT) Agree with most of it.

A LOT better. Especially Kenny and that journalist who spread his lie which some LFC supporters are still spouting.

There are always players to be had if your scouts are doing their work. What about Ba? Bent? Yajubu? Adebayor on loan? Holt?

Sorry, I still don't buy that. Carroll was injured when Kenny bought him, if he needed an immediate replacement, why buy an injured player?

Technically you owe Evra an apology :p Either way, nothing to forgive for, we all get passionate about the clubs we support. I just thought the club could've acted better, and the fans took their cue from that I guess.

Haha, how deluded are you? You're 5 points off Spurs who have a game in hand, not to mention you'll be missing the racist for 8 games soon and your 35m striker is crap.

Dilusions of grandeur perhaps ?

Are you always sarcastic or do you have a personal vendetta against me and the team I choose to support ?

Get off your high horse.... Its only football.

MON is good. Heir apparent to Fergie should Mo not take over ...

Fergie will have to die first before he stops managing !

City now on top in the league. The race is getting interesting.

City were always on top. United can make up the points difference (and even go top if they win by a humongous margin) by beating Newcastle tonight.
