The Official EPL 2011/12 Thread

On current form? Sure. When Rooney is at his potential though its a totally different story.

Valencia is miles better than Rooney at the moment. Rooney has been horrible the past few games.

Valencia has improved a lot more than I could of dreamed of. I remember when we first bought him from WIgan, his sole purpose was to just sit on the wing and put high balls into the box. Now he runs at defenders, gets into the box with ease. Top player.

He is playing well at the moment - I would say him and Nani are the best wingers in the Prem follwed by Bale

I smaak Bale - pure class that guy

So John Terrys case has been postponed to July 9, after euro 2012...shocker

no Valencia hasn't improved at all since his arrival... still the usual stick to the wing run at defender and cross the ball in or blast it at goals (this is new one)... his weaker foot is still useless :(

I have to say RVP is currently top of the chart for best player of the season so far, with David Silva close second and Taylor R third

What else is a winger suppose to do fish???

Valencia is averaging 1 assist a game (after the Basel game). He is creating and scoring and has been our most influential player amongst a host of injuries.

Ye but not top of the pile yet - RVP has made sure of that...

I guess I'm trying to compare him to the likes of Ronaldo... not even Nani can muster that yet :(

If Valencia starts playing more with his left foot he'd be scoring more :) Additionally if his crosses are more accurate instead of blasting the ball across the face in search of a easy tap in.

Yet your Valencia and Nani are better than Bale? Nani is off form, Valencia has found a high over the past few games. Like you say Bale is class and unlike form class is...? You know the rest.

You know no one compares to Ronny so imma leave it there:)

Sorry, Nani is way better than Bale. He's been one of the best performers in the League for the past 2 years. So has Bale, but Nani offers more and is more dynamic and adaptable. Plus, what I don't like about Bale these days is that he does so much damage on the left wing, but now thinks he can do it wherever he is on the pitch, so he keeps drifting into the middle, where the game bypasses him.

If not for Nani last season, we wouldn't have won #19.

(PS. I left out Valencia, but he really has been epic these last two months. Let's not forget he suffered a broken leg not that long ago).
