I am still happy with my RB3011 bought second hand. Though, I found it was barely used when picking it up.

RB3011 are also really cool. All the ARM-based routers are great. My MIPSBE powered hAP ac was having a hard time keeping up with a gigabit line. Hit 100% CPU at around 840Mbps when using FastPath and a fraction of that without FastPath.

I am seeing similar with my ac2 on a 500Mbps line, when introducing queues, the CPU spikes to about 40%, but then the speed drops to under 300Mbps

This 5009 is a beast. Tested it now with FastPath disabled on speedtest.net. Was downloading at 940Mbps and the CPU was at 20%.

IS there a way to "route via ExpressVPN" directly on the Mikrotik router?

If you can translate https://www.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/manual-config-for-dd-wrt-router-with-openvpn/ to mikrotik config,
then use use openvpn

If you can use Wireguard for ExpressVPN and have a ROS7 device you can route the traffic for specified devices over the Wireguard route

I see the router can actually import a ovpn file ... will try it tonight on the LAN. If I screw it up remotely, I won't be able to recover the connection. LOL

On the one device I was able to disable all packages and just have the bare base and then there was enough space to upgrade after a reboot.
