The official Mikrotik router thread

well you can test it with teh RB4011 and see if you do have remote access or not. If you do then you are fine.
Never seen double NAT cause issues with gaming
will test it out. new to mikrotik.. as i understand some games not all (depending on how they implement multiplayer mode (p2p or through servers etc) give issues. NAT type issues on consoles as well.

but as you say - let me test it out.

Havent had the chance to fiddle with that. With PBX gateway's I often need to customize certain things and root access is disabled. So I use/d the dirtycow exploits. First port of call I would reckon is to connect in a terminal env to load and run the exploits. If successful you could set bridge mode in terminal. Strong word of advice, if you dont know how or what rather dont. I dont think your ISP will be pleased to hear what you did if it went wrong.

Afaik,is what it is,you could get a VPN tunnel going to get yourself a reachable public IP,but VR have the device itself pretty locked down

im considering the VPS route as i also have a rain 5g connection which is CGNAT. but was wondering if i didnt have to do that yet and can get around the double nat on the VR side.

eish that sounds way beyond what i am capable of.

but interesting nonetheless. So from a routing (mikrotik) perspective there are no workarounds is what it sounds like..

You can't really make wine from water without extra inputs
Something has to be public to forward the traffic

Usually these are used just for the fiber connection. That's why they don't let you fiddle with it. Then they connect a router to it to ppoe dial your ISP.

What is the on ethernet connected to the router?

Get your ppoe details

Its an all in one ONT/router and they dont give those details out. You have to connect via that router via a LAN cable or 2.4ghz wifi...

Well then you are **** out of luck.
Hvae you tested to see if you have remote access to the mikrotik?

looks like it yep. havent tested - will setup something and check - wanted to check-in here first if there is anything im missing.

Hi guys. Mikrotik newbie here (not a network expert). Need some advice suggestions.

I have a Rain 5G line (at the moment 350-450 down / 100 up).

I alsp have a Vuma Reach 20/10 fibre line.

What is the best way to setup load balancing with failover. Ive been reading up mostly on loadbalancing using PCC but im getting lost in all the firewall and routing rules. Now i can follow examples and see how far i get but am i looking into the right thing here?

Just want to confirm, you want to load balance, not do a failover?
