The official Mikrotik router thread

IIRC with rOS 6.x the packages were still separate, and you could choose which ones to install, whereas with 7.x they are all combined into one package. I am not sure if it's for all architectures but this is how it now works with my hEX S running MMIPS

This uses SMIPS as far as I can tell.

Okay, upgraded my RB750GL's to 7.9.2, and now interface 2 is master/local, and not slave as expected.

Any particular reason for this?

It's in the change logs
Mikrotik changed the way they configure the switch chip. It's now done with a bridge instead of master and slave ports.

If you are asking if you can power the flex by PoE with the ax2, you can not, and would need to use the usb c

I currently have 2 switches, a MikroTik GS250, and the Flex Mini. If I setup vlans on the Flex Mini will they be "picked up" by the AX2? I will have to configure it via Firefox browser, as Winbox does not see it.

wouldn't you want to setup the vlan on the mikrotik? The flex Mini will then use those - unless you want Vlans per port - in which case yes you would then need to set them up on a browser

If needed, vlan per port, I not yet sure, how I am going to set it up. Hopefully I can replace the Flex Mini, with a GS260, before it becomes a issue.

Thanks.

So okay after lots of drama I have my AX2 safely in my paws.

Is it now standard procedure for courier guys to stop outside your premises not climb out of their vehicle, go to clients premises, and deliver the correct item?

This is what MDS Colivery, did, guy Whats WhatsApp'ed me, told him to take packe to office, and that a guy called George ( my employer ) will collect on my behalf.

Nada, he sat in the vechile for 10 minutes, doing Lord alone knows what, and then departed.

E-mail there office in JHB - After a back and forth, they promised to deliver package within 20 minutes, 25 minutes later I e-mailed the that their guy did not make it. Left to pick my Wife up at her work.

Half hour after I left and just after I picked up my Wife guy Whatsapp'ed that he was there. Told him sorry, you are half hour late.

Sent another e-mail telephone call later they said they would deliver to my home.

Hour later I got my package.

EISH!!!

Okay, just spent 15 minutes trying to login to my AX2 - Authentification error, wrong username or password. Username admin, blank password. Tried Legacy login, different ports, tried resetting it. No joy, swore it's mother, plugged cable into RAIN router, and checked on web, last line, of paragraph, caught mine eye - some models have password on sticker.

Strue as Jannis, there are passwords on the sticker. The writing is really tiny tho.

Logged in, with the password, and much joy and jubilation it worked! :) :)

Responds rather snappily, via winbox. Must aquire a better network cable, only getting 80mbps - via Wi-Fi getting 388mbps.

Very happy with you folks recommendation. Will play further tomorrow.

Enjoy the setup!

RouterOS 7.10 dropped a few hours ago too. I've downloaded it, but will install when there's some quiet time on the network again

Been playing with my HaP Lite, it is showing only 8-10 Mbyte RAM - is that normal for the device? Bit low from my point of view.

Also, is that RAM or Disk allocation?

What does it say in Winbox? If you navigate to System -> Resources, you should see total and free resources. AFAIK the HaP Lite only has 32MB RAM or thereabouts.
