Well I'll hopefully be getting the Motorola Atrix in April and need a thread that will help the present and future Atrix users with things like tips, tricks, ROMs, accessories and etc.

Firstly I've got to say I was a bit hesitant on the choice due to the locked bootloader but from the development I've seen so far on XDA it seems to be quite a favourable choice overall.

Secondly it might be me but I haven't seen any Tegra 2 users in the forum as of yet, so I'm also interested in your views as well.

Motorola Atrix Specifications and Features:

Processor: NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core 1GHz
RAM: 1GB
Storage: 16GB
Screen: 4-inch w/ 960 x 560 resolution
Battery: 1930mAh
Camera: 5MP Stills, 720p video (LED Flash on rear and 640x480 front cam)
Extras: Fingerprint Scanner
Operating System: Android 2.2.1

afaik there are no Tegra 2 devices in SA, the only devices i know to run on Tegra 2 is the Xoom, Atrix 4G, and the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I am very interested in the Galaxy Tab10.1 for gaming and browsing and reading.

I mean unless Qualcomm come up with a proper gaming platform within the next 2months that is.

because TegraZone is very promising, but it adds another layer of fragmentation on android, in the same way that Netflix is only allowed on Qualcomm devices as of now

There's also the LG Optimus 2X but I'm not sure if we will see it here anytime soon. We don't get Netflix officially in SA but I get what you mean. Fragmentation will continue to go on, but I suppose you just have to settle for a device that seems more appropriate to your needs.

We're not getting the LG Optimus 2X. I contacted LG and they informed me.

It's with myself remus786. I've done the Nexus One and Samsung Captivate in the past.
I'll be selling the phone for R5200 with customs, taxes and couriering but note I'm only doing these sales for a month though due to studies.
Closest Motorola to the Atrix is probably the under spec'd Defy.
 
the dock is apparently expensive even by USA standards, doesnt the PC dock also have support for hdmi?
 
yo. i need a phone and want that phone bad. i am currently waiting, does anyone know when it is hitting our shores? by April? may? or should i just get a desire hd now and get the atrix for xmas?

Like CrazYmonkeY159 said, the laptop dock is quite pricey as it costs the practically the same price as the phone. The HD dock is resonably priced in my opnion but you could just go straight HDMI.

By the way I can get the laptop dock if you are still interested in it.

Are you getting the Atrix or the Atrix 4G? I see it's not available yet, so how is it that you're getting it next month?
 
I remember when the iPhone 3GS was released, wantitall were selling it for R10 000 (the nerve)

anyways they need to keep smartphones at the $499 mark (or $200 on contract) anything more is too much
