The Official Nintendo DS Thread

Holy crap! Oh well, just have to be patient then ;)

Update:
Finally my order status changed, its been shipped, so in 3-5 days I'll have my new M3 and my trigram screwdriver(to fix up my DS...Hope I can fix it though).

@Void
The owner of BGRonline is actually very friendly... Or at least to me he was, don't know bout other people so I won't say he is or isn't.
He posts here from time to time. When I made my order I sent him PMs and he was very helpful.

Glad he was friendly to you at least. He seemed annoyed when I tried to ask for info etc. Anyways, every person to their own I guess :)

class 6. does it make a difference? Or must I go buy another? The one I have is a Mecer 4gb SDHC class6 card.

Class 4 reads at 4+MB/s. Class 6 reads at 6+MB/s.

Your mecer 4GB SDHC Class 6 is absolutely PERFECTO! You won't have any probs.

All I can say is, enjoy!

Luke777 is using class 4's I think for his PSP's, dunno about his NDS though. So am I. My kingstons are class 4's and my no-name brand is also a class 4. I find it so super that SDHC cards are so cheap too! I am using a MS Pro Duo adapter that can take two SDHC's. So now instead of using 4GB's, I'm running 16GB's. I know this is a NDS topic, but I just had to mention how lucky we all are that SDHC cards are so cheap!

WHEW! That's a relief! Thanks a mil voidzero! Now I just patiently await my r4.
YAY!

Good luck with that Dr@g0nic

Just my typical luck...
Already getting problems...
The screwdriver fits and all but it seems that the thread of the screwdriver is just a bit too short, so you'll really have to push down hard on the screwdriver to get some movement on the screw. I managed to get two screws out though... now I just can't get it right to remove the last two screws :(
UNFAIR :'(

Dr@g0nic. Sorry to hear about your probs. Have you tried modifying something else to use as a screwdriver? Maybe grind down a small allen key to fit. Otherwise just take a small drill bit and drill the little suckers out. you can always find another small screw to replace it afterwards. Hope you succeed.

Yeah Grumpy, if I somehow manage to get these buggers out I'm seriously gonna find a normal screw to put back in...
I'm wondering if I can't maybe do some modifying on this screwdriver... coz the point is just a little bit too short, coz I manged to get two screws out with it.
A small drill you say? You don't think I might end up hurting the DS?

Dr@gs. Yeah. There is allways the risk. Just be VERY CAREFULL. I would drilling out the screw leave as the last resort. Try anything. I opened a Garmin NUVI last week with a steak knife... LOL. Not very elegant solution but if it works... From what I can see its the same screws.

Any cool new games any of you guys have been playing lately?

Seem to missing some content on actual games these days.

I got tetris, its not a new game, but i am loving it. The wi-fi multiplayer mode is the best. If you a fan, its great to put your skills up against people all over the world, and to get a ranking. I am not all that great, but its a lot of fun nonetheless.

I'm stuck on New Super Mario Bros at the moment. Takes me back to my youth and the days of the good old C64.;) Grid is good as well if your into racing games.

Hi guys

Just introduced DS Lite repairs to my portfolio. What are the common problems? Broken hinge and faulty touch screen?

Thanks in advance

The whole Castlevania series is great... I finished Portrait of ruin. I'm busy with Order of Ecclesia, and haven't played the first one(Dawn of Sorrow) yet.
There's also The World Ends with you...
Ah there's so many games... If I'm to name all the great one's I'll sit here for a While typing, and I'm kinda lazy.

@Maestro
Here's another problem for you...
Faulty top lcd. It's a problem I'm having, which seems to be caused by the ribbon cable. Sigh too bad you in Pretoria then you could've fixed mine.

Most console repair shops, 1-man shows and flea-market operations are in JHB/PTA I'm afraid.

It difficult to replace just the ribbon, from a look at supplier price lists ... a replacement screen is the best bet. I can always import a top screen and a tri-wing, ship it down to my birthplace (CTN) and you can fix it yourself :p
