I already got a tri-wing screw driver from extremeshop.co.za. Got two screws out and the remaining two can't get out, and from struggling so much I worn out the last two screws :(

@ Grav3 don't worry as soon as I fix up my DS(tomorrow I'm going desperate and drill the bugger, and I'll replace the screws with my own) I'll give those two games a try as well. Damn I have so much catching up to do :(
 
Dr@gonic be f***ing careful when drilling a screw out. Also dont use a hand drill, try get hold of someone who has a press drill.

If you go that route..... um good luck :)
 
Yeah don't do anything desperate Dr@gonic. Just take it slow and hopefully it will still work. Wishing you best of luck.
 
LOL thanks for you guys' concern for me hey. Appreciate it... but I'm seriously getting desperate. I'm missing out on everything, haven't played a DS game in quite a while. But I'll try to be careful in any case.

Update:
I've manged to remove one screw(kinda forcibly but its out), located at slot-1.
Only one screw remaining, and its gonna be a bit of a fight.
Thing is... who says I'll be able to fix it once I manage to open it... LOL... Oh well.

Final Update:
Managed to open it up...
My ribbon cable is torn :(
Suppose I'll have to buy a whole new LCD now hey?

HAHAHA! Now that's funny! I thought I was the only one crazy enough to use steak knives on my toys!!! :D I received my order finally from ES, but never thought I'd need a trigram screwdriver.... so I was pretty fubarred! Then I modded two of my screwdrivers... no luck! So I thought, "BUGGER THIS!!", I grabbed a steak knife and started loosening those screws! Luckily my order consisted of a NDS full replacement case. So I didn't care much for that 'ORRIBLE looking silver gray case. For those who don't know, those screws are ONLY on the bottom of the DS. Inside are just regular screws.

So ja, be careful when drilling Dr@gonic!

hey ppls. i clocked suikoden tierkes last night. honestly the storyline was very satisfying, the voice acting rocked and the anime cut scenes were kick ass. on the down, gameplay wasnt all that challenging and level grinding was a breeze. recruiting the SOD wasnt hard at all and there was hardly variety in attacks and skills. worth a playthrough if youre hanking for some gaming story goodness. now on to valkyrie profile or should i go ffcc...decisions decisions :D
 
GTA Chinatown wars!!! This game is genius!!!

I am hooked, played more of that than I did my xbox on the weekend.

If you ever played drug wars or what ever it was called on the PC, then the drug running mini games work exactly the same! I spent about 3 hours on sunday night just running drugs

I love this game..... But I still love you too Peggle.
 
I know it's brilliant hey? Me and my cuz ussually play gang bang mode and it's awsome wrapped in a 100mb package!
 
Why on earth is this thread so quiet? :/

Anyway, got myself a DS lite but unfortunately I have a dead pixel problemtjie on the touch screen. I've mailed Core about 4 times now (since about 10 days ago with no response (not even an auto responder) whatsoever. Strangely enough I don't get delivery reports on the mails I send thim :confused: I've also tried phoning them but nobody seems to answer the phone (guess they're playing Wii or something).

I'll try phoning tomorrow but so far the customer service has been really awful (almost just as bad as Standard Bank last week)

I had the same issue with Core. I tried to ring them about another product and the phone just rang and rang ...
Have you tried going back to the shop? I've heard this is quite unusual for a DS.

You're not allowed to take back DS products directly to the store (similar to Microsoft's Xbox policy). Anyway, I got hold of them this morning. They will maybe replace the unit but can't guarantee that the replacement is going to be dead/stuck pixel free :( Well I guess I'll take the chance.

OMG Dude!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem.

I've been in contact with them for a while now and they said they'll send me a new unit... they sent it but the address was probably wrong. I mailed them back after that and didn't get a reply. I've send like OVER 9000 emails but still no reply... It's been a good couple of months now.

That's why I resorted to fixing my DS myself...

Sigh looks like another distributor is about to lose license to Nintendo...
 
Core, MI Digital and Partserv are a bunch of idiots not worthy of the paper the contract for distribution rights is written on.

In terms of dead pixels, the ratio is not as high as on the PSP ... but it happens.

*sigh*

/fixes some more PS3 consoles (YLOD/Dead lasers)

Sigh so true...

Well I'll at least give Core credit for doing something our friend Futronic could never archive and that's to successfully launch Nintendo here in SA. And a lot of people actually knows what a DS is these days and you'll see it and its games etc on shelves....
