Which gaming controls have you connected to it and does it work flawlessly?
Anyone streamed games from their main computer to the Shield?

I have a question regarding the annoying volume touch-slider on the remote.

It's almost never accurate in terms of how you want to adjust the volume, and on occasion I tend to accidentally brush on it whilst picking up or using the remote, which alters the volume, when I have no intention of doing so.

So how does one go about in totally disabling it?

I use it at full volume and use my receiver to control how loud I really want the audio to be.

You can try Settings > Display & Sound > Advanced > Fixed Volume to see if that helps.

I use it for Plex, Spotify, Twitch, Youtube...pretty boring.

Which applications did you guys add to the Shield from out the box?

I actually bought mine for the soul purpose of GameStream.
Still waiting for it to arrive.

So far only for Shield TV owners in the closed preview program,

NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV gets SHIELD Experience 7.1 with NVIDIA Share and 120Hz support

Can someone confirm that DSTV now, Kodi and Netflix work 100% natively on this? (no sideloading shyte)

Wait, Shield Pro and Shield 2015?
What version is this? Is it the best version?:

The Shield Pro has a 500Gb hard drive and some additional IO (SD card slot, IR receiver) and a rechargeable remote with headphone jack.

The underlying chipset is the same on both models.

Does the one I ordered got IR? I have researched but haven't found any info.

So do I have the 2015 or 2017 model? This ****ing thing is so vague.

Oh God, more questions regarding my purchase.
Can I do Geforce Now on my purchase?

The 2015 model is discontinued and do you mean NVIDIA GameStream or GeForce Now?

Ok well I don't need IR in any case, or a card slot. But the remotes remain the same right?

I will only be using it for plex and gamestream.

Yes the remotes aare bluetooth

2017, all the models bases are identical, the pro just has a harddrive and the 2017 is slightly smaller than the 2015

Yes

Never tried it but the Shields all use the Tegra X1 chipset so they all have the same basic capabilities. I'd bet there isn't any difference between them for Gamestream / Geforce Now purposes.
