The Official NVidia Shield Thread

That small shield looks like it will be the perfect Plex player.
 
I would've put play/pause next to the mic button, ffwd and REW next to each other and volume up and down next to each other but what do I know, it's like NVIDIA wants to be know for having a bad Shield remote.

Received a Shield yesterday. How do you get the USA apps - Hulu, HBO, Showtime, VUDU etc?
I can only see DSTV Now, Showmax and a few other apps in the Google store. I changed DNS1 and DNS 2 to the ones I got from my SmartDNS (Unlocator) but that does not change the Google Store to the USA one.
 
I've been wanting a shield for a while and then it occurred to me how many more mi box I could buy for the same money.
It's not like the shield will have different netflix and youtube and VLC.

to be honest, I have never tried any other service... only DSTV & Netflix, oh and Amazon Prime... Mostly I use Kodi.

Sideload the Aptoide TV app. You can grab those from there. Make sure it's "Aptoide TV" (I think currently it's on version 5.0.2) and not just the one that has apps which are not optimized for Android TV devices.

Sideload Aptoide TV Store on it.
Download the apk here: https://aptoide-tv.en.aptoide.com/
Copy it onto Flash drive and load it on Shield.

Anyone having problems with gamestream after the recent windows 10 update?

My PC shows offline on the Shield, so I'm just getting a waking up screen the whole time.

My PC's firewall is switched off as well.

Flip that volume control is the biggest ball ache ever already... the stupid remote is unresponsive 90% of the time. Every now and then I have to switch from CEC back to IR, run it like that for a while then back to CEC
 
I have to switch between my LG TV remote and the Shields' remote from time to time. Sigh
