Flip that volume control is the biggest ball ache ever already... the stupid remote is unresponsive 90% of the time. Every now and then I have to switch from CEC back to IR, run it like that for a while then back to CEC

Me too sometimes, but now increasing or decreasing volume is slower than before.

Anyone using the new Shields for Plex? Im wondering if the extra gig of ram on the Pro unit will result in better performance. Just used as Plex players and not a Plex server.

I just use my TV Remote most of the time, have a Hisense and enabled it on the TV to send the signals over the DVI cable. Works like a bomb with almost everything.

Does anybody have feedback on the new remote? The old remote is very non responsive at times and can drive me mad.

I must say the new shield got me feeling a little salty because you know the only reason the 2017 shield doesnt support dolby vision is so that the new one has some sort of edge over the old one.

Other than that i love my shield, just need to replace my Denon AVR-X540 with something that supports atmos and dts-x now...

Once a day all streaming will freeze (sometimes the sound continues), even switching apps eg: netflix to amazon it can't stream, have to restart and then everything works fine again. I get a notification alert in the top but can't click on it before it disappears. Anyone have an idea wtf is going on?

I have the 2017 model and have not had that issue? At times YouTube will freeze, sound continues, but then I just skip back to resume. My Kodi will at times go to a black screen when its been idle for long, can hear the cursor movements but no image. I have to end task on Kodi and restart it.

Thats great news to hear, think ill buy one from you. Want to buy new shield also but dont have the money for it currently as covid is devastating my SME

Did anyone mount a network share on their Shield?

I mounted one of my shares from my pc, on the Shield.
The Shield only displays the amount of space used in the share but I can't enter the share.

I have mounted a wd mycloud successfully on the shield. I use plex to access everything on the mycloud.

Absolutely nothing happens when I click on this folder.

You will need to use an application to access the mounted share. Like plex or kodi or even some file access app

I actually noticed the share in kodi after I mounted the drive 2 days ago.

I noticed something else as well. I have an SMB connection from kodi to my pc. I am watching the first episode of Ratched at the moment. The video buffered quite a lot before when watching through the SMB connection.

After mounting the share (picture above), and watching the exact same file through Kodi, through this share, there is absolutely no buffering.

Interesting indeed. Why though? Has it got to do with smb being crappy?

With the latest Android update, youtube lags about a second before it can play the video, which sometimes including stuttering sound. Also if you pause a YouTube video it then automatically pauses after a few minutes. Anyone else have these issues?

Haven't experienced any issues with mine. Try factory reset
Shield TV Pro 2017 - SW 8.2.0 (32.6.4.435.1)
Edit: When I first got the SW update, I had some issues with Disney+, after doing a factory reset, it worked fine.

Hmmm... . I just fixed my CEC issues so hesitant to do this. Rather wait for the next update which might fix my issue.

I just bought the nVidia Shield Pro off amazon.

Does it come with a set of those plastic "plug heads" that I can slide into the Adapter, or do I need some kind of adapter to get it to work? I'm kind of clueless here on how to plug it in. (Not received it yet)

Mine came with a molded plug but the power cable was a standard 2 pin like many electronic appliances, so I just used the cable from an old CD player. (my shield has an internal psu)
