I'm currently also only running it in G mode due to similar issues, but I'm going to see if I can do something about that over the weekend.
 
Chromium for Raspberry Pi BETA

I’m happy to announce that Chromium binaries are now available for you to download and try out. These will ONLY work on Raspbian images, if you’re running Squeeze or anything that isn’t hardfp, don’t even think about it.

Whilst it’s not required, using the 224MB memory split, overclocking your Pi and using a fast USB stick or SD card for your root filesystem will improve your browsing experience. I’ve had the RaspberryPi.org blog frontpage load in as little as 5 seconds by combining all three of these. With that said, let’s get started.

If you’re closer to Europe than the US, type this into a shell: bash <(curl -sL http://goo.gl/5vuJI)
If you’re closer to the US than Europe, type this into a shell: bash <(curl -sL http://goo.gl/go5yx)

Let that command run for a while. It’ll download about 35MB and probably take a while to do it’s thing. Once it’s finished, you can launch Chromium by typing:

chrome –disable-ipv6

Make sure you specify the –disable-ipv6 flag, else your pages will take longer to load than they should (yes, this is probably a bug). This is somewhat of an experiment as the post title suggests, and your input in improving the experience is welcomed. Currently, builds are manual, but if they prove popular and useful, I’ll automate them and produce nightly builds.

Cool, I hope it's faster than the default browser... geez it's painful and an resource hog.
 
Mine has arrived and cleared in Jhb - very excited. So, it is time to subscribe to this thread. Now, about cases. I really like the DiscPi - did it require drilling the Pi, Fudz?

I can see myself printing out that Punnet template and going around kitchen shops comparing tupperware boxes. However, a few of the lego ones I have seen are really cool. Also, the model ship and model star wars ones are cool. But I'll be damned if I have that much dexterity.

i ordered mine on the 18 of June and to date have not received any info from DHL with a waybill number.
 
i ordered on the 20th of june and have not recieved a waybill number.
the order confirmation said 5 weeks delivery. and 5 weeks is over on the 25th.

come on now. the wait is killing me.........

No. It said 5 weeks until dispatch. You will likely get your dispatch email on the 25th

When the time comes and you get your tracking number then it's fast. I got my tracking number on Friday, when it was packed, tracked the parcel through the weekend and got my parcel at 8:30 today.
 
The 100 Mbps Ethernet port seems to be a limiting factor. How does it handle playback of large (15 GB to 20 GB), 1080p MKV files?

Yep, first with a smaller bit (to drill a pilot hole) and then the larger hole (depending on what size bolt you go for). The actual CDs are quite robust but those plastic discs (found on the top and bottom of spindles) will shatter even if you look at them funny.
 
I still have a problem...whenever i set the resolution to 1080 x 1920 the sounds start to stutter.
movie will run for a few minutes, and then i wont hear anything for 2-3 second, if i lower the resolution it works fine.
same problem on openelec AND respxbmc

EDIT: I tested using LAN and USB
 
I am now officially part of the party. DHL just said howzit and I got my PI!!!!!

Damn - still don't have the SD card from Sybariti - gotta swing by there but earliest I can go is Thursday.
