The official running thread™

That's insane considering it's only just opened. Perhaps they didn't have trail-running shoes etc?

Hearsay but the first run apparently had five falls. I've used trail shoes both times but still feel unsettled underfoot. Too many tree roots etc. And the fallen leaves don't help

It doesn't seem to bother the sub 20's though. But then again nothing bothers them

They're psycho's after all.

Would any of you know if this charger would be compatible with my forerunner 55?

Yep that is the one you need and that is a good price so go for it

Have volunteered a few times at North Beach park run (it's out and back along the promenade) and quite a few people just walk the last 500m into the finish line in order to get their Vitality points.

A few years back they even reversed the direction completely (running out in the opposite direction) to foil the cheaters.
Hobie Beach issued a rubber band for your wrist at the turnaround point.

Parkrun record broken! A smashing 13:45! Wow thats pretty fast
Would be nice if someone could get one of our athletes to try and brake the record, could be quite a nice rivalry for countries to try and hold the current PR World record.

Also, it might trigger a competition for the flatest parkrun. Taking away the 'park' part and turning it into flat track running.
I have to say the one I do is quite flat and 99% on tar/paving. Its not the closest one but it is the one best suited for running with a pram. I really think its a good candidate for some youngster wanting to do a sub-15

I enjoyed watching the ASA 5KM highlights the other day on DSTV. We got some fast lighties and fast adults.

Cold this morning. What are you highveld runners using to keep warm?
