What distance is this?

Today I walked the parkrun and it was a surreal experience tbh. I think I have ITB and after a years training you'd think you would learn to not overtrain. I will get smarter.

Capital Climb is on the 30th. Not sure I want to risk my ankle so soon. Then there's also the knees to think of

With all the progress you've made over the last year, probably a bit of over-training is inevitable!

I'm not qualified to offer treatment but if it is ITBS apart from resting a bit, I think foam rolling can help with the discomfort and including some strength work for your abductors can help - so side leg raises, hip bridges or squats with a hip resistance band, that sort of thing - assuming you're OK to do a bit of strength work.

Yup all good advice thx. I stretch every day as well as foam rolling together with side raises. Will start doing more strength work next week. It’s very tempting to test a 1km run but im restraining myself

Who ran CT Marathon yesterday?
New route meant a brutal climb at 28k's ruining a lot of PB's and many found it very tough compared to last year.
Heat apparently also a factor.

Some said residual fatigue from comrades adding to the woes.

Just had a friend do a good time of 3:17. I also saw comments about the hills but the overall elevation is still low IMO.

I think some were unprepared for the those 2 bumps at 28 and 32 and assumed a flat course throughout like last year.
Psychologically it breaks your rhythm and you end up struggling to maintain a decent pace to finish.

Yeah some guys don't like knowing the profile, I love knowing it. Will typically drive it if I can.

Those should be fine... Once you develop a particular running style you might want to get a more specialised shoe.

Always get tested first, by running on a treadmill at a place like sportsman warehouse.

Perfect along with the Gel Contend. Upgrade as your mileage increases but keep the older ones for rotation. This way you get more miles out of your specialized running shoe.
