The Official Xiaomi Thread

If the amazfit watch didn't have GPS issues, I would have been on top of it.

What issues? I have mine since January 2017, no issues at all. The app was mediocre in the beginning, but it has grown/evolved so much, that I don't need to import to Strava anymore.

Same here. I used to run the watch and Strava on my phone at the same time to avoid losing watch data.

An update or two later, and I don't bother- the watch is fine. Holding up well. Some new features have been added since I watched the first reviews- can control music playing on the phone from the watch now for example.

I'd still recommend it for a casual, weekend warrior type. Serious sportspeople could probably justify a 'proper' GPS watch.

My boet has a Garmin- if mine outlasts his, I'll be happy :D

No replaceable batteries for both, so they'll start showing their age eventually- which is where I'll buy something similar ;)

My original Mi Band 2 strap finally got tired of keeping the Mi Band pebble in place on Saturday. The band has a hard plastic insert that keeps it semi-rigid but it popped out after all the abuse it's been through. I got the Mi Band 2 in August of 2016 so I think it lasted quite well. It's been swimming in the sea, drowned in mud and sand and drill dust, fell down a flight of stairs, bumped against walls and desks countless times and it just keeps on begging for more.

I bought a replacement strap and retired the original one. Quite impressed with how well it actually held up :)

Are you serious?
I've been reading blogs and on xda, so this is good news. I'm a big strava fan and all my segments is loaded.
I'm really keen on the watch the GPS accuracy was just off putting.

Could it then be the firmware version perhaps they are running?

I've been on all English firmware's, since launch (I pre-orderred), no issues for me. There was one, that took a few seconds longer to connect, but that could've been my imagination.
Also, I can't comment on the newer models, the Bip and the Stratos (Pace 2), as I own the Pace. I think my next one will be the Bip, as it's a cheaper GPS watch than the Pace and Stratos.
(Also, the Bip apparently has a 30 day battery.)

Yeah that shell came out of my strap a couple days back and now won't stay in place. Been about 3 months of use. Good thing I got like 4 extra straps at $1-2 each when I bought the watch.

Perhaps getting it wet in the shower has caused the strap to lose some shape? The device though is durable and reliable.

So even after the latest update i still CANNOT wake the phone from a locked state using "hey google" "ok google". has anyone gotten this right yet?

I went this route after much contemplation and I went the Lineage route.

does yours work on lineage? while locked with the screen off. saying OK GOOGLE unlocking the phone and performing your request?

Do you use fingerprint to unlock phone? "OK Google" works on mine, while phone is unlocked, but not locked.

i use fingerprint with a pin backup. mine works as long as the phone is already unlocked.

If its locked with the screen off it does NOT respond.

If its locked with the screen on, ie pushing vol button when locked with screen off, then it vibrates and asks for the pin, entering the pin/applying fingerprint then shows the assistant waiting listening for a command.

JUST tested it again after seeing a message for a split second. if i wake the screen while the phone is still locked and say hey google with a funny voice, it says it couldn't recognize my voice. if i do it again with the phone already unlocked it responds.

that tells me it recognizes my voice but can't unlock the phone still, since it rejects the voice pattern only if its still locked.
