The Official Xiaomi Thread

Hi, can anybody advise me how to clean up my Redmi 4A. It’s about 14 months old and gas become quite sluggish. Any advise will be much appreciated.

Yeah, for 200 odd dollars you might as well spend the extra $50 or so and get the poco hey.

But if you dont have that extra $50, this makes a great option at that price point.

I'm sure XDA will be all over this one with Custom Roms etc
 
The camera is actually only 12mp and is outdone by the poco f1

Redmi Note 7 Pro = 48 mp sony sensor
Redmi Note 7 (Chinese Version) = 48 mp samsung sensor
Redmi Note 7 (Indian Version) = 12 mp
The global version of the vanilla RN7- more likely to be the indian version?
 
Wouldn't mind an upgrade - my Note 4 has served me well - only phone to still be working after 2 years of ownership.

Its not just that simple:
Note 7 Has 48 MP, f/1.8, 1/2", 0.8µm (Chip only allow for 12 MP so no seperation of 4 grouping)
Note 7 Pro has 48 MP, f/1.8 at 0.8µm (Can run both 48 and 12 MP by grouping 4 as 1)
Pocophone has 12MP f1.9 at 1.4µm
Pixel 3 has 12.2 MP, f/1.8 at 1.4µm

Both the Notes and the Pixel has better Optics (f/1.8) than Poco's thats only (f/1.9)
Also the Photon pickup size of the Notes (1.6µm) are bigger than Poco and Pixel (1.4µm) when you run them as 12 MP.

In conclusion Hardware wise Note is better than both Poco and Pixel As it has bigger pickup and same quality optics as Pixel.
Pixel's Optics is better than Poco so it will win hands down
What we dont account for is Pixel's AI software (Not Gcam only) that is way better than both Note and Poco. Xiaomi have way too much noise in translating/converting photon's to image in the hardware.

So I would say looking on paper quality would be:
Pixel > Note 7 Pro > Poco.
 
What's a fair price to sell a Note 4 at? Good condition - but - no screen protector - so there are scratches when you study the device.

Also been in a silicone cover, so body damage is minor from sand and stuff that got in between cover and phone.

I sold my 3GB/32GB Note 4 for R1800 about half a year ago. Had a screen protector on with a few small nicks to the rear aluminium. I had a buyer almost instantly at that price, but I'm sure you could get at least R1500 for your one.

They are still very capable phones and I miss my one's excellent battery life.

I'd probably replace it with the Note 7 :p I was also thinking about R1500ish or slightly lower.

I sold my Note 3 in pristine condition for R1500 including Postnet a year ago. For your device fair is between R1200-R1500 and throw in free Postnet.
 
Definitely won't throw in free postnet :) Anyone who wants to buy a phone remotely does so at own risk.
