Hello Mi Fans!
At the moment, we're having endless queries on Global Mi Community, and to be honest, most of these are related to Google Phone & Messages on the Global Xiaomi phones. Well, the responsibility of replying to these queries obviously falls on us and hereby, I'd like to draw your attention to this article!!

MIUI ROMs are usually adapted to the needs of the regions where Xiaomi devices get launched and sold, and only for that, you get quite a lot of choices for your phone: China version (CN), Global version (MI), EEA version (EU), Indian version (IN), Indonesian version (ID) and Russian version (RU). Well, it seems, all devices that got/will get launched globally after Mi 9T Pro (including itself as well), were/will be pushed out with Google Phone, Messages and no longer deliver pre-installed MIUI Dialer, Messaging. It is due to privacy laws and restrictions around the globe - these devices are now making use of GMS or Google Mobile Services, a bunch of applications and APIs aimed at letting your handset ensure a great user experience right out of the box.

Global ROMs and EEA ROMs of new Xiaomi devices will no longer have MIUI Dialer and Messaging, rather Google Phone and Messages will come pre-installed on these. Devices launched before Mi 9T Pro aren't expected to have these apps.
As a result, MIUI functions such as Call recording are unavailable on these ROMs right now - however, as per a report by MIUI Pilot Team, it'll be obtainable again in 2020, along with Google Phone and the latest Xiaomi software! We do appreciate your continued support and patience meanwhile.

I've got my eye on the Note 8 Pro for R4700... is that reasonable? The MediaTek processor sounds shuye though.

Specs look good except for the display

Try get it cheaper, if you can. Not sure what it will cost with import costs etc. but I suspect you might be able to get it for cheaper than R 4700.

For reference, without import costs etc. you can get it for just over R3000 from Amazon (depending naturally on if you go for 64/128 GB, etc.)

I've had no regrets with the device myself.

Anyone have this lamp?
Looking for new bedside lamps but not sure if this is worth it.
Or is this more of a desk type lamp?

I have the Mi 8 and Android10 is apparently released already, are there ways to force the update regardless of my region? Assuming the update is region-delayed.

Got my CC9 pro today. Camera is amazing. Still getting used to MiUI

6700 including DHL shipping and insurance. Then about 700 customs.

Does anyone around here have a realme brand phone?

Currently considering Redmi note 8 pro/Realme x2 pro/Redmi note 10 pro. Phones are so expensive these days, its not an impulse buy anymore. Paid less than 2K for my Mi A1 when it came out.

I bought the Redmi Note 8 Pro in December and I'm so impressed from a value for money point of view. MIUI took some getting used too but I actually kind of like it now. And yes, it is running a Mediatek chipset which may mean that custom ROMs are not an option for me but I'm honestly okay with that too. I don't know if I have the time or energy to mess around with the custom ROMS any more.
