The Official Xiaomi Thread

That's why I stick to Authy. Makes life much easier.
I use Authenticator Plus and same as Authy you can backup and restore and use on more than one device.

I purchased authenticator plus and love it.

If you want something free have a look at Aegis Authenticator.

Does anyone know where we can source OEM batteries from? I have a 3 year old Mi5 that badly needs a new battery - it barely lasts 4 hours before needing a charge. The phone itself is still perfectly usable and it seems a waste to buy an entire new phone just because the battery is done.

I’m in Yangon, Redmi note 8 Pro premium edition 8/128 for R3070 or Mi 9T 6/64 for R4600. Seems like a no brainier. Not sure why the 9T is so much more expensive.

Wireless AirDots are only R250 as well.

On paper, your opinion is correct, but I prefer that the 9T has AMOLED with pop up selfie cam and therefore no notch and also has a Snapdragon SOC as opposed to the 8 Pro's Mediatek. Also, the 9T is a metal build whereas the Note 8 Pro has plastic sides IIRC.

I'm biased though, as I'm typing this on a 9T.

Yep, fair enough. It just seems like a disproportionate amount when you weigh up the pros and cons. Both remain great value though.

Have to agree, those mediatek processors are not ideal. Remember it's costing them to buy the snapdragon processor as well as the amoled from Samsung. No doubt both great value though. I googled the antutu scores and 8 pro sits at 280k vs 420k for 9t/k20 pro

I thought you sold the 9T...

Need a tempered glass for a redmi note 8. Any idea which phone is closest to the same screen as the redmi note 8?

I sold the 9T Pro, moved back to Max 3, bug wouldn't go away, moved to 9T non-Pro, got hooked and sold the Max 3.

9T Pro had no call recording....

So
I wonder why Xiaomi is starting to load the stock Android dialler, messages (sms) and contacts apps on their global version phones?

Mi 9T Pro has those stock apps and now I have just watched a Redmi Note 8 Global Version unboxing and it also has those stock apps. Mi 9T, however, sticks with the Miui versions of those apps.

I'm not a big fan of the stock Android dialler - I much prefer the Miui version. Of course the stock Android dialler loses the call recording facility too.
Called it. I'm super glad I grabbed a 9T with call recording. But now I won't be able to upgrade until they bring out a stock dialler recording solution...

I held a K30 today. Never even knew they were out. 6/64 for about R3500.
