Bought a Redmi 9A last Friday from Mia Africa for R 1619,10 on sale - received a screen protector plus gel cover with it.

How much was the Redmi 9A this morning on what I presume a flash sale?
The Mi Box apparently was R699! Wow.

At Mia Africa site: It still shows the R699 for the Mi box , but add to cart shows the full price. Same scenario for the Redmi 9A.

Is it a glitch and you pay full price at checkout?

------
Edit: Mia Africa replied through live chat saying it was an April Fools Special for the first 20 products sold.

I'm glad I was a fool that woke up early and happen to browse their site.

Thanks for the heads up, also got one
OK. A 9A or the other thing?
I bought a 9C 2GB from Takealot in December last year. On special for R2000.

This phone rocks. The only differences between the 9C and the 9A are that the 9C has fingerprint unlock and a slightly better processor. Otherwise they exactly the same.

Comparing the 9C to my Nokia 1 is like universes apart. Difference in price R1000. Both entry level phone's but ya..

Android GO is a kak operating system.

Strangely enough though, when I got my Nokia 1 it was running Oreo and flew with no problems. Fast and responsive. Than Pie came and bugs started. Than 10 came and essentially ****ed the phone up. I think just trying to fix things I must have Factory Reset the Nokia 1 at least 50 times. Never ending frustration. I never knew what was going to go wrong next.

Ive still got it. I'm waiting for HMD to patch their kak bug ridden software updates. It's small and great to carry around.

So when Takealot had the 9C on special last December I thought what the hell. Let me take a chance and buy it. Maybe it will not give me kak like my Nokia 1.

Well. What a pleasant surprise. Not a moment's frustration in any way with the 9C. It is fast. It doesn't fall asleep and not wake up. It is responsive. It is a joy to use in every way. It is a reliable tool for a cash strapped person like me.

I've learned. Thank you Xiaomi for a great reliable product  .

Nokia screwed up my 2.1 as well. I don't plan to give them business in the future.

I've always been a Nokia fan. But luckily the Nokia 1 lesson didn't cost me lots of money. Just time wasting trying to fix software bugs that HMD were not bothered to fix. Phones are strong and we'll built still. Hardware on point.

Software the problem. So, never another Nokia for me. Xiaomi adds so much more value to their products and are a pleasure to use. Not as tough as a Nokia but they perform reliably and consistently well.

Plus I'm not a teenager anymore. I don't need toughness in a phone. I don't sit on it whilst in my back pocket etc or hit people over the head with it lol.

Is it no longer possible to import xiaomi phones via gearbest and banggood?

Been getting “not available to ship to your country” for a while now.
