The Official Xiaomi Thread

First of all I'm not some people. There can be only one.

Give us a lekker review over all of the phone after a week or so. Got a mate who's deliberating over the 10 pro or hold out for 11 ATM.

Same. Chip looks a bit better, otherwise I don't see a big difference. So I'm waiting for reviews.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro (Global) that we have in RSA is different to this one that was originally released in China.

General consensus is the same will apply to the Note 11 Series. The Chinese version of the Redmi Note 11 Pro is unlikely to reach RSA so I dont think your comparison is valid as the spec has not even been released yet.
I dont see the Global Redmi Note 11 Pro to reach RSA until 2nd quarter 2022 at earliest.

I am currently looking for a smartband.

I have watched reviews on Xiaomi smartbands.

Basically the Xiaomi smartbands aren't accurate.

They are basically decent step counters.

They perform poorly compared to other bands.

Just so you guys know.

Question. On the Note 10 Pro, the icons that appear on the top of the screen when you swipe down, can those icon be moved around so that the most used icons appear first.

Very very decent phone.

Switched from my Samsung S10 and Huawei P40 lite to the poco x3 GT. Screen is great. Battery life excellent like 10 x that of the S10. It has a super charger 0 to 100 in 48min and batter last 2 days or so with medium to high usage. Great for gaming and the 120Hz screen make touch feel very smooth.

It comes with UFS 3.1 which at first I didn't really care about until I saw the difference in performance when it comes to app installs and updates from play store. My s10 is slow with just and a list of 10 updates takes time. With the poco it was fast and setting up the phone for the first time had all the updates done if a few minutes.

The phone is a bit heavy probably due to the battery.

5G works great on MTN and simple needs you to set the 5G NR preferred setting in the networks option. Sadly Vodacom needed me to force enable 5G to work but does work once forced. It has dual 5G standby so you can switch between both sims for data usage quickly which is nice.

I don't use the camera at all an didn't even notice that my S10 had 4K hdr support after 2 years so in terms of camera usage I can't advise.

Paid only R6749 for mine from Takealot and was available for collection next day. Very happy with my purchase.
Thanks for the review, I've ordered one and would be delivered by Friday, upgrading from Redmi Note 8.

In regards to the 5G on Vodacom, you had to force enable it but does not work once forced, so in other words no 5G on Vodacom?

What are the chances of the Redmi 9A going on special again? Christmas presents for my housekeeper and maintenance guy.
I'm not sure. Takealot's pricing is weird.

They drop prices at random times.

Ta. Might bite the bullet and get from MIA, R100 more.

I'm in two minds about buying a Poco X3 GT now or waiting for their new generations of phones to come out. I've been forced to use a P30 Lite as a daily for almost two months now since my S20 FE was stolen.

You seem to have the financial means for this to not be as big of a deal as you seem to think is.
