I got it right. It's the stupid F'king theme that didn't give me access to those options.
It's now on its default theme.
Now for the battery test.

If your battery life is still not as expected, backup what needs to be backed up, format and reinstall the software (Latest Stock ROM, rooting not needed to do this). After some updates and MIUI 8 to 9, my battery life had decreased from 2 days to a day and a half, decided to try Lineage, battery dropped to 1 day. Went back to latest Stock ROM and battery life is back to almost 2 days :)

On Xiaomi Mi 5 it had to be the 1st SIM, did not work in the 2nd slot (Slot 1 is inside and Slot 2 closest to the door)

You need to Add an APN else the internet does not work. Did not need to do this for Cell C or MTN cards before.

Add an APN with the following settings:
Name: rain
Username and password stays blank
APN: internet

Save and set preferred network type to LTE and you are ready to go.

My battery is now on 76% after 9 hours, 8 minutes.

Who would've thought that a theme would royally **** up a phones battery life and options to toggle???
 
Very interesting findings indeed. For all you know that theme was mining cryptocurrency for some scaly dude in the background :D
 
Please assist me with some good advice.
My cell contract is about to expire.
Do not want to renew it. Will rather opt to get my own device from Gearbest.
Any suggestions with good Mi phones that is similar to Samsung S6 or better.

Well for about 7k you can get the Mi Mix 2s, really good phone a friend got one and I'm like wooo.
 
Was MIA giving away phones with the order of certain phones recently? Or was it just my imagination? I see they are giving a pair of headphones with their watch.
