How much for customs and duties?

Actually, the invoice date is 29 July 2018. No idea why they only sent it to me now.

R497 :( broken down as follows:

Clearance R50
Disbursement R11.55
Customs VAT R427.95
VAT R7.50

It seems this billing is inconsistent. Some are being charged around 1k from Aramex for the same phone that cost 189 dollars from GB. Its confusing really.

It is strange. My Redmi Note 4 cost me a total of R26, but I sent it through normal snail mail and not via Aramex. I wonder if one could query it? If you could, it would probably add another few days to the already long processing time

I too got an update for the RN4 to MIUI 9.6.2.0. Still on Android 7.0 with Security Patch 2018-07-01

Movement on my Redmi Note 5 Pro:

01 August 16:09 PM: Cleared from Customs

Oddly I only got the notification now on my Deliveries app and I have been refreshing it like a possessed person these last few days

I just got mine delivered. Very nice phone indeed.

Very nice! Mine still shows en route from JHB since yesterday morning lol

Phone just arrived. Seems nice and smooth, and the device to device setup feature is pretty neat

After playing around with the RN5 this weekend, I'm pretty impressed with it and feel like I have the following points to add:

-The camera is good, but not miles ahead of the one on the RN4. Low light is still an issue and I am contemplating rooting it and installing Gcam on it. The portrait feature is also tricky to get good results from
-The screen is gorgeous although there are some apps that don't display 100% and don't render the space near the navigation buttons correctly
-The box had a soft TPU cover inside, which was nice. The device is quite slippery without it
-I am finding it difficult to tell the difference between the RN4 and RN5 in terms of performance. Multitasking is a bit smoother but overall responsiveness is much of a muchness
-It is a bit of a pain having to stretch my hand to access the notification drawer, but I think there are gestures to fix that
-The loudspeaker is nice and crisp, much more so than the RN4
-Battery life is better than the reviews would have you believe. I am currently on 51% with 6h40min SOT

Can't read anything posted on the fridge
That's the way I like it. Old age simulator

I'm busy experimenting with the full screen mode where it hides the navigation buttons and uses gestures to control the now hidden buttons. Pretty cool but could take a few days to get used to.

When you do root it please let me know as I want to install Gcam on my Mi6 but have no idea how to do it.

Sure thing

I will probably do it after I can with 100% certainty say that the My FNB app works with root or that I can hide it using Magisk or something similar. I need it (My FNB) for work unfortunately and if it doesn't run then I am going to be a little in my moer :D

Maybe making way for the 6 series of devices? Their site is a mess. I really struggle to find my way around it some days

My RN5 Pro has been at customs since last week Wednesday with no movement since. I sent through the invoice to Aramex, but I just got told to be patient :(
Same here? No note even that my invoice received except email. Hopefully get it next week.

Maybe try follow up with these guys: ALL_JNB_EXP_HUB_Invoicing[at]aramex[dot]com

EDIT: I tried unlocking my Bootloader to load Gcam but it's a real PITA. I received many error messages and tried all the recommended fixes like adding Mi Cloud sync, running the unlock tool as admin, trying generic ADB drivers, etc but nothing seems to be working. It gets to 99% and fails. I have been hearing conflicting info on whether the 360 hour waiting period is still in effect or not, but I think I will wait the 15 days and try again

My Google Assistant's "OK GOOGLE" just stopped working and I can't retrain the voice model as Access with Voice Match is greyed out on my Redmi 4X.

Is it just me or did anyone else run into this problem? (My son also has this issue on his 4X)
