Getting really good battery life with MIUI 10.

Only a pity the notifications for my apps aren't exactly working. They seem spotty at best, with certain apps just not showing notifications even after I checked the battery saver and permissions settings. Odd

Yip. The RN5 Pro, but basically the same device.

I still feel it cannot match up to the RN4 with the SD625 chipset, however I am still happy with it and MIUI 10 brought a nice new feel to it even though they changed the interface more than I would have preferred.

Hopefully soon, is there any word on it releasing on XDA? They seem to be a good source of info relating to Xiaomi Co phones :)

I'm just a layman who doesn't the pro's of each mobile chip but so far so good. It gets me through the day while I listen to podcasts most of the time. Haven't been using it heavily, just YT and one puzzle game.

What annoys me is that you have to change your region to India to have the face unlock active and by doing that I'm getting calendar notices from their region and the notifications from the stock music app. I turned off the former but can't do anything about the latter.
What podcast player app do you use?

In Miui 9.5 and 10, Do Not Disturb does not restrict WhatsApp notifications which is very annoying. I have resorted to turning off wifi and mobile data while asleep to avoid being woken up.

Any known work around?

Manually muting your groups?

Is The Xiamo Mi A1 any good?
I enjoyed my 9 months of ownership with my Mi A1. Camera with 2x optical zoom was handy. Battery was similar to my Galaxy S5 back in the day.

Having had a Redmi Note 3 before the A1, I did miss some of the trinkets in Miui like call recording built in.

If you can find an A1 for around R3k, it is still a good buy and will get Android 9 Pie soon.

Airplane mode?

Mi A1 lasts a full day with medium use. I've had mine for a year or so and it's still great. Camera is ok, not as good as my Samsung S5, but perfectly acceptable. Portrait mode works well, but it's a bit sluggish. 3 or 4 seconds per photo. Video stabilisation is done by the afterwards. Works well, but it's a slight pain that it's not actually integrated into the camera app.

I got the A2 in October. Similar battery. Better camera. Portrait mode also works on the front facing camera on the A2. Video stabilisation is excellent at 1080p 60fps. It is now an option in the camera app itself. Portrait mode is faster than the A1, but still not as fast as the iPhone X. Overall, I'm very happy. If the Pocophone was available at the time, I probably would've bought that instead for the Snapdragon edit: 845. Thanks bunny.

Should have got the pocophone, you'd have been surprised that it has the SD 845 not 835

I still need to receive calls from numbersnin my favourites in casenof an emergency or the alarm company for the office premises. So i have to now use DND and turn off both wifi and mobile data to make sure that no random WhatsApp message wakes me or SO up
