The Official Xiaomi Thread

I ordered 2 pocophones through them and now they have vanished into thin air. Even emailing them bounces back to sender. Hope its not 15k down the drain.
Contact bank, do a chargeback. Something is not well at miphones...

Miphones.co.za Site is up again

I payed using the payfast option. I have contacted them we will see what happens..

Awesome thanks for the info. I see takealot actually has it slightly cheaper than the site you linked. Its a pity since miphones.co.za had it quite a bit cheaper, for both the Poco and Mi8. Can't seem to find any information on why the site is down or if maybe they just closed up shop.

I see they have the Mi Mix 2s for R8400 but 64GB version

Have you found out anything further from them? I was considering ordering a Pocophone now that the site is back up. But you have me a little worried? I have heard from other people that they ordered off miphones and got their items within 10 days, so hopefully your delay is just due to their service being down for the last week.

Look at this budget beauty... $260

SD660
4/6+64
4000 mAh Battery
48 MP camera

After the disappointment that was the redmi note 6. I bet this phone will smash the budget segment this year.
Does this series have an Android one version in the same way that Might 6X is the A2?

Global version only coming out April. If you want one before then you gonna have to live with Chinese text in some apps.

Does it by any chance have the magically dual SIM + SD card combo??

$260 seems totally overpriced for the Redmi Note 7, compared to the Pocophone at $300.

The 3gb/32 at around $150 according to the video (probably closer to $175-180 at launch, plus for a while after - like what they did with the Note 5 and 6) seems like the better deal.

Highly anticipated 48mp camera really disappointed in the video review too... FHD only at 60fps? C'mon...
I'm sure it'll get 4k with updates later, but when you release a phone touting a "48MP!@!1 Camera!1one11" you'd atleast expect the software to, you know.. atleast record in 4k, like the 12mp cameras do on their other devices.

All that said, if available at $150 then it's pretty good value & will have great custom rom support as always which counts for a lot.

Anything seems like a bad deal when compared to the Poco. A lot of ppl dont appreciate the disruption that it caused, so lets just get our expectations back in line. shall we? :sneaky:

Yes 3/32 starts at +/- $150 and the 4/64 will go for around $200 - I stated $260 because thats what the reviewer stated he payed... unless i heard wrong and it was actually $216

regarding your other points, they are kinda non issues when you are at a price point of +/- $200

Xiaomi is also pretty quick with updates and the reviewer did mention that there were some glitches which no doubt will get fixed pretty quickly, 4K 60fps etc will probably follow shortly behind

The SD 660 does not even support 48 MP (See Link) so I am sure they had to do some workarounds or software engineering, Said workarounds is probably the reason 4K is not happening if you ask me.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A - is there any option to have it switch automatically between GPRS/EDGE, 3G and LTE?

I found that on CellC in certain areas I have poor 3G but LTE flies, and in others 3G flies but LTE sucks.

Been running Syberia OS on my note 4 for a few weeks now.
Android 9 is smooth as butter, battery great.

Had ArrowOS on which I also liked a lot, but the phone would not connect to some WiFi networks.

Looks like the microusb port on my Note 4 is dying - struggling to get it to charge :(

Whats a good replacement currently available?
