Just bought the Mi 9 Lite from Gearbest. $246 all in for the 128GB model. Don't think the 9T is worth the extra cost imo, maybe I'll be wrong. Coming from a Redmi 4X (not the Note) this will probably be a massive jump.

I'm looking for the stock standard native launcher... Like I had on my flashed Note 4 - I don't like fiddling with launchers, and like them the same across my devices

I had the same problem. Turn off media streaming in Bluetooth>YourPairedCar and it will solve the problem. You just won't be able to stream music with this setting off.

Aaaah brilliant. Thanks FlashSA. I fiddled a bit more. If the above is enabled then under source in my car I have to select Bluetooth only then do the sounds come through.
 
Just ordered a Redmi Note 8 Pro off Amazon for $217 or ~R3,200. Hope it doesn't disappoint. I like backing the underdogs and did so with Huawei initially - haven't been disappointed. Now giving Xiaomi a shot ;)

Not sure to be honest - I'm having it delivered to a relative in the states who will be visiting next week. Delivery date for North Carolina was Thursday - so probably add a few days for SA.

Remember, the stock Google launcher changes with each new release.

Do yourself a favour and download Nova launcher to one of your devices to test it. It is lightweight, but with tons of optimisations. Also, once you are happy with the layout, you can back it up for future reference. You can also copy the backup to another device then make small tweaks, instead of starting setup from scratch with each separate or new device.

I have been using Nova since my htc wildfire days. Devices include Samsung Note 1, 2, 3 and 4, asus tablet, Samsung tablets, Teclast tablets and my mi Max 3. The look and feel remains the same across all devices and you can set it up exactly the way you want
 
Tried it in the past, wasn't impressed - but happy to try it again. After a bit of back and forth, got a apk for a working pixel launcher.
 
Installed Nova, took forever to get my Pixel experience back :p Here's hoping for the best.
 
Anyone have experience with Dual Apps, and getting "App isn't installed" when clicking on the 2nd whatsapp? Googled, and can't find any proper solution.
 
Anyone with a Redmi Note 8 Pro managed to find a screen protector locally ?
 
Which Xiaomi phone do you guys recommend as a budget phone? Perhaps something like a Redmi 8A and around that price range.

Do you have Nova launcher installed?

Its a nova issue, the "permission denied". I have the same issue.

Got a Mi 9T since July, haven't seen 1 screen protector here that works. I bought 4 screen protectors in August from Gearbest with 15 day shipping and down to 2. Best would be buying online (Its also only about R35 per screen protector)
 
I had a screen protector on my Mi Max 3, but for my Mi 9T, I'm going naked and loving it. I look after my phone very well and my left pocket is only for the phone, so risk to screen is near zero
 
Can anyone recommend a proper case for the K20 Pro? I had a Spigen rugged armor on my Mi9 with a glass screen protector. But 1 face first drop on the tiles and the screen was gone :(
Too bad UAG, Speck etc don't make cases for Xiaomi phones
