The Official Xiaomi Thread

Understood so guess its not worth it in terms of after sales service and warranties from Miphones. That POCO has some impressive specs though.

That being said The Redmi Note 9 Pro 128 looks an excellent value proposition.

hi, help me out please there are just too many variants of these phones.

redmi note 8 or redmi 9 they have similar pricing ?

the 9a and 9c dont have enough ram and the note 9 is out of budget .
need 3 phones so under R3 500 is the budget

Thanks

Redmi 9 is a bit quicker although it has a Mediatek SOC and it has a bigger battery than the Note 8.
I think the rest is pretty much the same.

I'm back on the Xiaomi team from my OnePlus 6... Got the Note 9 Pro and Mi Buds for R5700 on the Takealot App only deal
Man I don't even know what to say. But for me watching EPL on showmax, I'm sure I could've cracked 10hrs screen on... On the first 100% charge no less. #Beast

hi

I'm still struggling to decide. note 8 pro on blue dot sale R2899.00 vs redmi 9 + earpods R2999.00 both are 4/64 gig ram.

whats your choice ?

I think that the names are designed to confuse. Rattle the customer into buying something that is cheaper but under-specced, then replace it sooner than if they had bought the correct one in the first place.

It's not only Xiaomi that does this. For example, Samsung also has a bunch of a, j, s, etc models that really needs research to understand. Many car and camera manufacturers also have confusing naming conventions for their models

You can disable adds in the settings
Hmmm, looks like you can only switch off personalised ads. Generic ads still come through. I had to put the phone into developer mode and use ADB tools to delete all that. I don't feel like going through all that for no reason again
