The Official Xiaomi Thread

It is a cool phone but not 12k good.

It is still a xiaomi come resale time etc.

A lower speced S20 FE is more likely to retain value & have more parts available etc.

Maybe I'm just losing interest in premium/expensive phones now.
My bad, it isn't R12k, it is in fact R11999

Resale? Who sells 2nd hand phones? I throw them in my drawer as backup phones

It is single sim though.

At the bottom of the page it has a Vodacom logo.

Has this phone been officially launched in SA?

Mia is really terrible at managing the brand.
Technomobi keeps Vodacom stock when it comes to phones.

Takealot sells the Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G 256GB for R12k

It used to be on special for R10999 not too long ago on Takealot. I see it's still advertising for R10999 on MIA website.

I'm probably going to go Note 10 Pro if I get one at the right price on Carb or when my Mi 9T starts irritating me. But for now, the Mi 9T is still awesome so I may as well keep running it until I find that bargain....

1 week down since last 100% charge. 1x OTA software update, 8hrs of WhatsApp web per working day, on wifi 24hrs a day and it has a sim card inside connected to MTN (not in flight mode). Still sitting on 56% battery left.....

Pretty handy "in the desk drawer" device.....
Day 9. 44% left

Time to start a thead pool for bets?

I'm doing the exact same thing as you lol, from a Mi9T(mine was stolen though), ordered a Note 10 Pro with a friend bringing it in from Nigeria. Works out much much cheaper than Amazon or Mi-Fix(terribly overprice imo)

So this is weird.

Redmi Note 9 Pro currently on MIUI 12.0.3 on Android 10.

Just got an OS update notification for MIUI 12.0.1 Android 11.

Bit weird that it'd drop down the MIUI version while updating the OS itself.

I thought android 11 started with MIUI 12.5.0?

Fek sake this is annoying.
As I said earlier, got the MIUI 12.0.1 Android 11 update.

Fullscreen gestures don't work at all and are now useless when using third-party launchers like Nova.

I hope this gets fixed soon...

Update available.

as an interim workaround you can use FNG for gestures, I’m not totally sure (as I still have FNG installed) but I think the 12.5 re-enabled system gestures for me.

Seems like Google killed gestures on third-party launchers some time this year unfortunately.
