Depends on the phone you're using but most phones would require TWRP, only a few would work with the fastboot method. I used to use Xiaomi.eu over the stock rom last yearAnyone ever use Xiaomi.eu ROM, what's the update experience like, will I also need to get TWRP?
According to the Nova launcher developers, Google killed a crucial API which means third-party gestures won't work in Android 10, 11, and 12 and that it's up to OEMs to reinstate it.Seems like Google killed gestures on third-party launchers some time this year unfortunately.
On older Android 10 versions and on a variant of Xiaomi's MIUI 12 (Android 11), gesture navigation is disabled for third-party launchers (like Niagara Launcher) in general. We can't change this, unfortunately. In this case, you have to wait until you get a firmware update.
Such a drag, updates are the worst part of the custom ROM experience.Depends on the phone you're using but most phones would require TWRP, only a few would work with the fastboot method. I used to use Xiaomi.eu over the stock rom last year
Google are also frustrating in their dropping features from AOSP, doesn't make sense why the API dropped in the first place.According to the Nova launcher developers, Google killed a crucial API which means third-party gestures won't work in Android 10, 11, and 12 and that it's up to OEMs to reinstate it.
This is why Nova works with gestures on Samsung because they baked it into One UI.
This is also why gestures worked fine on Xiaomi devices on Android 10, but not in 11.
Example, from Niagara Launcher devs.
Doing a little searching, apparently Xiaomi have confirmed they will no longer support third-party gestures from Android 11 onwards.

Xiaomi Android 11 update removes swipe up gestures on other launchers
The Android 11 update with MIUI 12 for Xiaomi phones supposedly removes the swipe up gestures support from third-party launcherspiunikaweb.com
They're also being misleading by saying it's due to the OS. It's is but it means that they have to add it. Other OEMs have already worked to add gestures back into Android 11 for third-party.
This is just the perfect excuse to force people to use the stock launcher.
Fek Xiaomi, tbh.
Seems the only way would be to do the @Dave way.
What device is this?
If you use a third-party launcher, can you check if fullscreen gestures work?
Disappointing news. The stock launcher is kak, finish en klaar.According to the Nova launcher developers, Google killed a crucial API which means third-party gestures won't work in Android 10, 11, and 12 and that it's up to OEMs to reinstate it.

Nah, slow and steady for me, thanks.

Not to mention the pyroclastic eruption that'll happen should said battery decide to say "eFF y00 guys!" whilst charging.I can just imagine needing a new battery 6 months after doing that daily in reality.

Nah, I'm afraid of that happening, modern smartphones are actually a bomb waiting to go bang at an inopportunate time (usually in your nasty pocketses).
Link? How much did the Redmi Note 10 cost you in total?
Amazon has it for slightly less than 3900 delivered to SA & including all fees.

No issues on Note 9 Pro. What device you on?FNG has started to feck about today, it’ll register gestures from the sides but is refusing to register gestures from the bottom of the screen. Makes it difficult to get back to the Home Screen.

Same story here with android 11. But that issue might be with the build. 12.5. i think we are on 12.0.1 or something. Fiddle around with the FNG settings maybe adjust the area of effectMi10T 5G, it’s an issue with MIUI/Android, they’ve removed access to the gestures API and 12.5 seems to have done something that even screws around with FNG and Nova. System gestures only work with stock launcher now.

They should be like Windows 11. Windows 10x with new folder iconsI’ve been tinkering with FNG on and off all day, I just get it working and five minutes later it’s dead again. I’ve set stock launcher up as close to how I had Nova for now. I’ll try again when I have time again next week.
Fecking Google pissing about with things that didn’t need changing or removing from Android.
