Amateur! My 2 and a half year old Mi Max 3 still gets 10.5 hours of SOT!!

I am really sorry that they cut development on the Max line.
Battery life on my Redmi Note 8 hasn't been so hot lately.

I have Accubattery and it seems to have lost around 20% of it's capacity in a little over a year. I'm unsure how many charge cycles it is as I have factory reset it once in between, but it seems to have lost around 15% per 12 months. SOT is not nearly as good as it was before.

That's strange. Both my children have the Note 8, more 1 year and 2 months already. There seems to be zero degradation of battery life yet.

Is there not possibly an app that is over-active that is draining the battery?

Not that I could gather, no.

The only 'pinned' apps I have are FNB Banking App, WhatsApp, Gmail, and Accubattery. I'm connected to WiFi all day, with good signal strength so the radio shouldn't have to work too hard to keep a connection. The same for my MTN SIM card which is around -70dBM signal strength.

I tried a factory reset about two months ago to rule out anything strange, but that made no difference.

Checking the battery stats:

Screen: 100mAh, 43min, 28.97%
Android System: 42.58mAh, 58min, 12.31%
Cell Standy: 35.45mAh, 10.25%
Phone Idle: 34.71mAh, 7hr5min, 10.04%

I unplugged the phone around 9AM, and as of 4PM it's down to 83%.

It could be due to cell tower changes (not just signal strength) requiring the phone to spend more battery to stay connected. It does not always show up a cell standby as it should, but goes under android system instead.

The easiest way to check if that is the problem: set (both) SIMs to 3G only. If battery life improves by a large margin, then it is the LTE signal causing the drain.

I'm surprised you gave up the 10T.

Does the Nord have a comparable chipset? Which model in particular?

sorry, missed this. I bought the actual Nord (AC2003 IIRC).

On paper the Mi10T is more powerful with the SD865 while the Nord is only SD765G but in general use I’ve yet to notice any real difference (I also still use my old 7 Pro 5G and that’s SD855 that also doesn’t really feel different in use). Though both OnePlus’s are 8GB RAM against 6GB on the Mi10T so perhaps that masks the superior processor.

The Max line was awesome! But seems like every phone is a "Max" now lol, smallest size I've seen is 5.8" which is still massive

Mine is 6.9 inches. My wife's Note 7 is 6.3 and it feels tiny

There are a few 6.7 inch screens around now. I think that only Samsung have 6.9, but they are horribly expensive...

Well, i decided 5G was not that important to me, as my life means I am always in a WiFi zone. I have 15gb mobile package, and I struggle to use it .. before it expires , I always only use about 2gb a month.

So bought this - hoping it’s better than the poco f3 that I cancelled. Have to say understanding the lineup is bewildering. Everything sounds too similar.

Bought more for the cameras than the processor as I don’t play games so guess won’t be affected by the slightly slower processor .

Hopefully I get it by aug 2 considering all the Kak going on right now.

And hopefully it does not get "intercepted" whilst in transit.

Hello fellow MYBB. Did anyone buy from Technomobi? They seem legit like similar to miphones (but very poor rating and would avoid like plaque.....). Possible considering this (I dont really use dual sim so it fine), just no experience with the below site..... (Also just waiting from MIA..for comparison) Any thoughts / feedback appreciated..

Xiaomi is a slow bunch here in SA only 4 months late. Then say they are launching the product, but sorry wait another 2 Weeks only end of July sorry ne'.

Looking at getting one of these as I have an older Huawei P20 Lite - is there any real benefit getting a Pro over the 10S? Don't really use my phone for much apart from whatsapp, youtube and browsing a few apps
If you dont do much with your phone, I will consider the redmi note 9 at R2900
At the official site
edit: Oops. see they are out of stock.
The Redmi Note 9t at R4200 is another option.
