The Official Xiaomi Thread

Good bang for buck on the Note 10 Pro but its probably not any better than the P30 Pro in most respects. Maybe the screen due to 120Hz and better battery life.
Yeah I know it's not better, but the screen is good. Just saying the Xiaomi feels premium, it's step up for my wife who was on a P30 lite.

I missed out the 1 day that mia.africa had stock. I wish Takealot would get some in again. Is the note 10 Pro just really popular, or do they get only very limited units at a time? Ugh...

Who knows, but it does look like a top phone especially for the price.
Though back in the day Redmi Note 3 was like R3k.

I bought my Redmi Note 3 on ebucks store for R1800 after ebucks discount (using all ebucks of course so essentially it was free) probably best phone I ever had. After 3 and some bit of years I sold it and got R1200 for it. Battery life was still excellent, only minor in issue then was the on/off button was not always 100% responsive. I now have Sony Xperia which is also a great phone but as soon as this contract is up I will for sure get a Xiaomi again.

They are bringing in limited amounts and only one colour so far.

They should have skipped the 10s completely.Only R500 difference and the 10 pro significantly better.

Does anybody have a Redmi 9T?

Are you completely happy with it?Any software bugs or annonyances?

I'm broke so I can either get a Samsung A22 (Helio G80,Amoled ,OIS and 90khz screen)

or the Redmi 9TScreenshot_20210813-185549_Chrome.jpg

Don't think I want the Xiaomi anymore.

Read comments on gsmarena.

Apparently it has software issues.

You update it ota and it never switches on again.

Apparently Xiaomi updates cause more problems and wifi stops working etc.

I was looking forward to trying something different but at least Samsung provides a stable experience.

From those comments Xiaomi phones seem full of software issues.

@Pineapple Smurf
Best to turn WiFi and mobile update OFF on your 9T until the Android 11 issues have been fixed. Many, many issues with this Android 11 update. Best to stay on Android 10 for now.

Thanx
I do have auto update switched off
I did do a manual upgrade a few months ago
I've luckily had zero issues since owning this phone

Anyone had their water damaged xiaomi repaired? My mom's Mi8 Lite (64gb) got water damaged. Any other options than throwing it away? I am in JHB area.

I don’t currently have a Xiaomi but I’ve had a number of them in the last few years, I’ve never had any software issues or OTA problems.

I’m not sure I would use GSMArena comments section as a reference either, but it’s your money to spend as you wish.

What the extent of the damage?
Completely dead or is there some power?

Any repair is going to set you back quite a bit and then there's no guarantee how much longer you can still use it, so just get this for the mom.

Ja, because your phone knows it'll be either shoved up somebody's ass or dumped into a tub full of pineapple beer...

Screen powers on but 'blocks' all over, no readable text. Budget for repair guess would be around 1.5k as I can replace with a 9C (64gb) for 2.4k or 3.5k for a 9T (128gb) which would be my budget for a new phone for her.
