The Official Xiaomi Thread

When is the Redmi Note 15 expected to be available locally or better yet the Poco M8, thinking of dipping my toes back into Xiaomi this year. Like when did the Note 14 release last year?
Who knows

I don't think Xiaomi releases their flagship phones direct to SA, They've pretty much only ever been available through importers. The T series phones are the only main brand phones that seem to be locally available.
I'm in the Netherlands. But not sure if we'll get the Ultra either.

im considering changing from a samsung a53 which i have for 3 years

my vibration doesnt work so need to maybe fix it or pass to litie

was looking at a note 14 https://www.incredible.co.za/xiaomi...MInIyvgNHMkgMVEZdQBh09hgHVEAQYASABEgLw1_D_BwE

sometimes also IC will tell you that price but no stock

worth it for R4500 ?

also sometime its only an online offer - so branches won't be carrying stock - if im not mistaken that model has reached end of life (still a decent phone for that price) - so its probably a warehouse clearance special in preparation for new incoming models

Yeah the Note 15 is out now. I'm still using a Note 13. Excellent phone 👍❤️

I have just replaced my Samsung A33 with a Note 14 Pro plus, which I bought from Bash for R7k. Unfortunately, now sold out. I am very happy with the new phone. It is well speced and does everything I need it to do very well. I also looked at the Note 14 Pro at Incredible, (who still have stock online), but I thought for the extra Rands, the Pro Plus was a good deal. Both are very good phones in my opinion, and very good value. I also think there is plenty of life left in those models.

I bought two Xiaomi phones and was really underwhelmed. The hardware is really good for the price, but the OS is garbage. I've had non stop issues. 50% of the time, when someone phones, the answer button doesn't show up, or if the screen is off, it remains black. I have connection issues on my mesh wifi, which no other device has a problem with. youtube will lose all play pause buttons, and everything around the video is black. If I put youtube on double speed, the video stops playing and it kicks me back to youtube home menu. There are constantly small issues like this. When I was doing my research, a lot of people online were complaining about the buggy OS, and I ignored it unfortunately. Yet, everyone here seems to love these phones, (which is why I ignored the reviews.) so I don't know if I just got unlucky with both of my phones or maybe the flagship models are better. Either way, next time I'm going to put in a few more bucks and get something else.

i dont know about the newer models - but i have a Pocophone F1 which is from when Poco was still part of Xiaomi and not in India - it still works and i would still be using it as a secondary phone but the battery is toast - if i can get a good way to get a battery back here from china i will probably buy one of those upgraded larger capacity models that give you 30% more time and get it working again - in fact it still switches on with the current battery but it shuts down if i try to do anything with it and charging it overnight allows it to stay on for around 15 minutes so i know its mostly just the battery at fault

before the battery issues it was still working absolutely perfectly - thankfully i kept all my photos and other important data backed up on a storage drive in my PC. My point is that many of the older ones were still pretty good - i got around 5.5 to 6 years of service out of that phone

Maybe luck of the draw, but I'm on my third Xiaomi/Poco phone and haven't had any issues, whereas I had several with my old Galaxy A52s. Were those global versions of the OS that you had?
