How does that Z170-P run btw? It's well priced over here, and I'm looking for a Z board.

Will post some benches once everything's assembled...motherboards don't really factor into performance until you get ambitious with the overclocking, typically.

Maybe check other similar builds except with other motherboards...I'm a bit lazy :p Just wanted to make sure the PC runs in the performance territory it should.

Starting Prime and going to bed now.

Prive vs performance, 3GB is the best value for money card out there. It's within 10% or so of the 6GB and it's only real drawback is on super-ultra settings with high res textures, which I don't and wont play.

Although that being said the 970 I just picked up for R2600 kicks any "best value" discussion in the balls.

So will be selling the 1060-3GB when it arrives.

Well, if i can add my 5 cents here, i am currently using the GTX 1070 G1 Gaming edition, quite the card! Id recommend it to many, however... i literally didnt think it would be as beefy as it was! I used to own a GTX 750...and it was pretty tiny in comparison, so now i need a proper case to fit it in, any suggestions?

I'm a huge fan of the Phanteks cases, Wootware stocks a few: http://www.wootware.co.za/computer-hardware/computer-cases/desktop-chassis/shopby/phanteks

Depending on your budget of course.

There's lots including the Phanteks DrJZ recommended. At the bottom of the price range is probably the Coolermaster Elite (micro-ATX) all the way up to the couple grand cases.

How? you noob...I bet you used a stylus on it.

The Phanteks case has aluminum side panels that can swing open, I opened the side panel (it was on the same desk) and the corner of the panel came into contact with the screen. I was just careless, should have just removed the side panel as it takes like a second to just slide off, oh well lesson learned.

^, eish...bad luck :(

Less distressing but I have to hand over the PC I built for my friend tomorrow...been playing CS GO with it

Think it'll run minecraft? ;)

Major disappointment for a colleague of mine.

He bought a new PC with H110M motherboard and a new 7th gen i5 7500. Both are socket 1151 ... aaaaand it doesn't POST.

After much head scratching and googling he realised that the motherboard needs an update for the PC to work. But he can't update because he doesn't have a spare socket 1151 6th generation CPU lying around and PC shops are closed today.

Major bummer.

Yip MB requires a bios flash for kabylake cpus. Does he not have any friends that have a cpu?

^^, if he got the board and CPU from the same place, ask them to sort it out. It's a bit poor if they didn't pick up the issue before selling it.

In this day & age every MB should be able to be flashed without a CPU I reckon, it's BS that you have to jump through hoops to get things working. Some manufacturers have this feature but only on their top end boards, asus has usb flashback while gigabyte has q-flash plus for example.
