What's your budget?

I'm not usually that brand loyal but I honestly have had good experiences with Corsair PSUs. My old VS550 lasted through a few builds and is now donated to a buddy of mine.

Bought a RMi series PSU for my new build, they're pricey but I didn't skimp on my newest build. You can stick with the RMx as it's the same as the RMi just doesn't have the same monitoring functions. Something like this: http://www.wootware.co.za/corsair-r...ified-fully-modular-desktop-power-supply.html
That's my PSU <3

Guys, need some help with a new PSU, my Seasonic X-660 fully modular is failing me.
With Sybaritic and the local distributor gone, I'm afraid I won't have much luck dealing with Seasonic support...

Any suggestions on a replacement?

Ho-boy, this is also the worst possible time to be buying a decent PSU.

How much do you have to spend?

I would have gone for something like the RMx550/650.

But...Seasonic international RMA/Tech support are honouring the 5 year warranty and will be shipping me a new PSU :D

Anyone know where I can buy this case only? I am not interested in the other hardware besides the empty chassis.
HP says that they only sell complete units. This looks like a pretty sweet HTPC case.

Even if you could buy the case only you'd likely have to mod it quite a bit to get any standard form factor hardware to fit in there. Doesn't seem worth the effort when there are lots of other options that will fit off the shelf components.

I can't find any info on the case besides the limited amount of pics on the web of how it looks from the front and back.
Youtube is blocked at work.

I have a Mini ITX that I would like to fit in there.
All the other competitive options either look crap, or the really good ones like Silverstone is not in being sold in SA.

Hi. Any advice for a gaming PC with a budget of +-20k (Total budget of 25k but the keyboard/mouse/monitor are still needed - aiming to get a 1440p display in here).

It's most definitely a custom form factor motherboard in there (it's clearly not a standard mini ITX layout from the pictures) and also doesn't have any removable IO shield so you'd have to cut that part of the case out to try and fit a normal ITX board in there (and that would probably be the least of your worries).

The PC should be fine but trying to get a graphics card at the moment will be another story depending on your needs. The only way to really get a decent mid range GPU at the moment is buying second hand and then you'll have to settle for possibly older generation (like GTX 970/980) or paying through your teeth.

Hi

I am looking to build myself a PC that would be able to handle at least a 20 hour workload day and most importantly being able to handle large database files, some exceeding 10GB in size.

I am looking at building the following PC:

Corsair Graphite 780T Windowed Full-Tower ATX Chassis (Black)
Asus ROG series Z170 Maximus VIII Ranger ATX Motherboard with USB 3.1 (LGA 1151)
Intel Core i7-6700K Quad-Core Processor (4GHz)(LGA 1151)
Corsair Vengeance 32 GB, DDR4, 2666 MHz 32GB DDR4 2666MHz memory module GB
Corsair CX Series CX750 ATX Power Supply (750W)
Kingston HyperX 2.5" Solid State Drive (480GB)(SATA III)
Corsair Hydro Series H110 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
* Corsair K70 RGB LUX Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Cherry MX Red Switches
* Corsair Katar Optical Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse

(* The Mouse and Keyboard is just my liking :) )

What are your thoughts, will this work for what I need it for? Is there anything I need to change?

What db software are you using and what functions are you performing?

I will be using something like WAMP to install PHP and MySQL on a localhost on my machine. But, the databases are in various formats, for which I will first use other software to extract and then convert the data, before importing to MySQL.

The stuff you picked out will work but you can probably save some dollars on the PSU \ mobo...I can't remember which chipset Intel aimed at business users but it's probably cheaper than the Z170. There would be an equivalent Ryzen business-oriented board also if you go Red Team. 750W for the PSU is excessive for what you're going to be using the machine for.

If you were gaming, I'd say forget the water cooler and channel the money to GPU but I like the it in a business \ productivity machine...keeps things quiet (though an air cooler at stock speeds is going to be quiet also).

Enjoy the build.

Two quick questions.

1. Is a E5200 (dual core, 2.5Ghz) really so crap in 2017 that it can't handle 720p or above in YouTube? I remember playing COD world at war etc and it handled it maxed out with a decent GPU a couple years back. With mobile phones and Pi's etc playing YouTube I thought it would be possible. I'm getting sound issues and occasional freezing mid video not due to my ADSL line.

2. This is more relevant to the thread, if the above CPU needs to be retired I am thinking of moving my i5 4670k to the lounge to take over the HTPC role. I can get a Intel i7 6700 and MSI B150m Gaming m3 board new for R3900. Good deal? I'm aware of Kaby-Lake but that will cost about double.
