Hi. Case is an Aerocool xpredator X1, which seems to be a mid tower case. It is pretty big so anything should fit.

PSU is only a few years old, it is a Seasonic S12 II bronze 550W. Should still be fine.

Ok that case will take full atx size MB. PSU is decent.

I don't really have a budget for this as I didn't plan on replacing it now. But the parts you have linked seem to be what I was expecting. Is it possible to go cheaper on the RAM? I read you want at least 3000 MHz with the Ryzen.

Can shave R190 off by going with the 3200MHz kit, https://www.wootware.co.za/g-skill-...-3200mhz-cl16-1-35v-black-desktop-memory.html

What will you lose out on a cheaper mobo?

Lower VRM quality. No BIOS flashback (you can flash the bios without a cpu or recover a corrupted bios). Possibly not support higher ram speeds.
For cheaper MB look at https://www.wootware.co.za/asrock-b450-pro4-amd-b450-ryzen-socket-am4-atx-desktop-motherboard.html which is still decent.
Anything less than this you sacrifice 2xdimm slots & possibly M.2 slot.
If you're happy with only 2xdimm slots then https://www.wootware.co.za/msi-b450m-pro-m2-max-amd-am4-b450-micro-atx-desktop-motherboard.html will also do the job.

EDIT:
The MSI B450M MORTAR MAX is R400 cheaper at Rebeltech so you don't have to compromise here.

I will consider the lower speed RAM but for R200 it is probably not worth it going for the slower ones?

In terms of the mobo's you linked, it is between the Asrock and the MSI Mortar Max. I see the MSI is a micro-ATX board, so it will be a bit more snug. Not an issue, but the Asrock has more SATA ports (my current 4 is maxed out and I need more), it also has more PCI slots (I don't need them currently). Rest of the specs seem very similar?

So the list will be:
CPU: Ryzen 1600 AF - R2200
Mobo: Asrock B450 Pro4 - R1800
RAM: GSkill 16GB 3600 - R1800
SSD: Sabrent 256GB NVME - R1050
Total: R6850

I would take the faster RAM, that said you might not be able to achieve the rated speed. It's MB&CPU dependent. Try the MB xmp profile and if you don't get rated speed you can try manually tweaking the timings and voltages. Also make sure you have the latest MB bios.

This thing is gonna feel like greased lightning compared to your i5 2500

Hi guys, blessed Lockdown eve to you all

Was wondering if now would be a reasonable time to get a PC built? Are places even delivering?
I would appreciate some advice to build something for around 9/10k?

Just a tower, mostly for some gaming and possible to stream to a TV? (with like a wifi enable thingy on the Mobo?)

I would really appreciate the advice. Also I do have a 500gb WD Blue SSD?
@ponder I am grateful for your previoud advice and hope we can chat

Kind regards

Which components do you need?

@ponder I honestly think I need everything besides a hardrive? I know thats a tall ask but your opinion is valuable

@Lupus Ah if that is the case then I guess I may have to just wait it out, but I can ogle at things online still :p

You'll have to compromise with an entry level MB & used gtx1070 or ti to get the biggest bang for buck.

@Thanks man , im willing to compromise . I have a 1050Ti in use right now? could that serve for a while as the GPU?

Yes you can use that for now but it's not great and then upgrade to a better gpu later.

Did you not have a case & psu you can reuse as per your previous post? If yes post make & model.

The thing is my case is missing a few legs...and my PSU is something generic a 500W if I recall.

I would rather get something new here, but if you think 500W is sufficient for whatever you may pull together Im more than fine to reuse.
Thanks for the assistance man

R2299 - AMD YD1600BBAFBOX Ryzen 5 1600 (AF)
R1899 - MSI B450M MORTAR MAX
R1589 - G.Skill F4-3200C16D-16GVKB Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200MHz CL16
R659 - Fractal Design FD-CA-CORE-1000-USB3-BL Core 1000 USB 3.0 Black Micro-ATX Mid Tower Desktop Chassis
R672 - Corsair CP-9020170 VS Series VS450 450W 80 Plus White Certified Non-Modular Desktop Power Supply
R7118 - TOTAL

I ended up not skimping on the motherboard.

You can use your 1050ti until you upgrade & you can sell your existing stuff on carbonite, gumtree etc and put the cash towards a new gpu (or a used one).
The R5 1600AF is a new cpu with performance matching the R5 2600.
Case I picked a cheapie, choose what you like.

If you got a used gtx1070 off carbonite now for R3k you'll be close to your R10k budget.

Is this a good deal?

I can't see how it's available...the vanilla 2070 is EOL.

I've read a few complaints about people ordering from RARU only to have RARU come back and say they can't get the item (and take awhile to do so). This is part of the problem.

Thanks. What about this one. I have not been following gpu price and specs.

That's good for a 2070 Super but I'd look at a 5700 XT now that AMD are paying proper attention to their drivers.

That's actually a very decent gpu with a big cooler so it runs cool & quiet.

Also some youtube reviews out there.
