Would recommend getting an XXL mouse mat, then. Don't think I'll ever go back. You know what a nice, cheap upgrade is? A new mouse mat. R200 and if you weren’t using a decent one before it’s life changing. So smooth!

Oh yeah, went from a pretty large pad to a desk pad and wow the change. You know what a nice, cheap upgrade is? A new mouse mat. R200 and if you weren’t using a decent one before it’s life changing. So smooth!
Wait. You don’t need it now. You’ll thank yourself later. Hopefully by the time BF6 is out, prices will be back to normal and you will have saved nearly R10k for having had some patience.Ok so I'm on 980ti playing on 1440p 144hz and looking at getting rtx3070 or 3080. Mostly playing warzone and maybe some newer games like cyberpunk. I'm running a gsync monitor pg279q with gsync module so have to be Nvidia. I also prefer DLSS etc etc. So I might be able to get a gigabyte vision oc 3080 for R26K so My head is almost going crazy cause I'm so unsure if I should wait or buy now. For now most of the games I play is warzone etc and my performance is accepptable get between 80-100+fps on low playing warzone and in MW I get 90-100+ as well in most situations so no complains there.
I'm sure I will be able to play bf6 on low and get decent frames. I play bf5 on low and graphics looks acceptable to me. Think I have 1 or 2 settings on high. Frames is also not bad allso get 90-100fps last time I remembered.

only from ltt.com, get the thermos as well ;-)When LTT store gets their 1200mm x 700mm desk pad back in stock I'm getting myself one.

yes I have one. I'm happy with the rest of my system. I upgraded to a 5800x and boom no more graphics cards in stock and price hike. So I can wait it out. BF6 andd most new games I would play only comes out end of the year. The only game so far is far cry 6.Wait. You don’t need it now. You’ll thank yourself later. I know it’s tough to resist that new and shiny dopamine hit, but maybe distract yourself with something else in the meantime. Do you have a mouse mat yet? We’re all getting XXL size!
I recently upgraded from a 1070 to a 3070. The performance difference is huge. However, I got it for R14k. R26k for a 3080 is madness and definitely not worth it in my opinion. Pricing is insane currently.yes I have one. I'm happy with the rest of my system. I upgraded to a 5800x and boom no more graphics cards in stock and price hike. So I can wait it out. I got a 2060 super last year at 7k before massive price increases, my rx580 sold for almost twice what I had paid for it.I recently upgraded from a 1070 to a 3070. The performance difference is huge. Save the cash, maybe upgrade your cooling or case or whatever in the meantime, if you have an itch. But wait on the GPU.

Building out a Ryzen 5800x system.
Which would be recommended?
B550 is R300 cheaper, and includes WiFi.
Is there any practical benefits of X570 over B550 for a “normal” user

X570 - https://www.wootware.co.za/asrock-x570-phantom-gaming-4-amd-x570-am4-atx-desktop-motherboard.html
Other??

Yeha quite few chips as high temsp due high voltage for turbo clocks.I have the 5800x and I'm not 100% happy. It's a great chip and all but go read up about high temps on 5800x and rather save up and get either a 5600x or 5900x. B550 should be fine and I bought this ASRock B550 Steel Legend AMD B550 Ryzen Socket AM4 ATX Desktop Motherboard - Wootware
I use curve optimizer on my chip so lower peak voltage while voltage still drops on idle. I still don't like the way it's implemented. Wish AMD could do it more like intel where it's not an offset but the max voltage allowed.Yeha quite few chips as high temsp due high voltage for turbo clocks.
I shaved almost 10c off my temps by lowering voltage and turbo speeds.
I run my 3900x at 4.2ghz 1.260v
