Because it's just a much better CPU.

In productivity the gap is even larger.

That said, on a 6600XT / 3060 you are unlikely to see much of a difference right now. If you upgrade your GPU in a few years you will probably notice it.
If you are on a tight budget the intel CPU could save you some money though.
Cheers.

What would be a decent motherboard for the 11400 then? Just want to have a few options in mind

Good luck is all I can say.
IIRC it is quite the minefield with the more affordable intel boards. Hardware unboxed did some reviews of some really terrible boards. They might have a roundup of a goups of boards to compare.
Otherwise google for a Buildzoid review. He usually has good insights.

My sister wants to get this gaming PC for her son. I was hoping you guys could give any advice if this is a good deal and worth getting.

Info - the 11400f is a 10600k in gaming, a little better at productivity.

The seller mentions an 11400f cpu in some places, a 10400f in others. I'd want a confirmed parts list before I made up my mind...maybe contact the seller?

It's not a rip-off or anything on the surface but you could get more performance if DIY is an option (or a computer shop builds it for you with the parts you select).

Better CPU overall.

Equivalent or better gaming performance in most games, better multi-core performance, unlocked so overclocking is what you make it.
I have a 5600x and I like it but I only got it because a GPU upgrade wasn't on the cards (and I was already on B450).

10% faster than an 11400f / 10600K for 35-40% more money is diminishing returns.

Lies, you just wanted to be like me...

All jokes aside, everyone starts somewhere. Just know that whatever you get today will be different by the end of next year.

The important thing is to get something going and let CUD take over...

Just installed my 3080 gaming trio z, picke dup new 20k on carb.

Lets see how quick my evga 650watt g2 burns out :P

New psu probably week or so time, thinking of getting 850watt superflow from woot.

The 650 should be enough.

Yep it did not explode yet, but cpu struggling to keep up.

Getting fps spikes in bf5, and gpu usage not getting to 99% :(

This is with a 3900x

Might need to get beefier cpu cooler and overclock a bit, it hardly turbo as so many cores are in use.

What resolution?

1440p, everything ultra. Was getting around 120 to 130fps on big maps.
Ah man now I want a 3080 to power my LG monitor :-). The 2060 super just gets me 70 to 80fps which is still silky on this screen, but I wants the 144hz. Cause playing Left for Dead on this monitor oooooooh my.

It's pretty! The rtx setting on ultra seems to be really taxing in the card, can't really see any difference. Might drop rtx to high from ultra

Rub it in :-P, I mean the 2060 super will only be 2 years old soon :-)

Agreed on the RTX, very difficult to tell the difference between high and ultra for me too. I usually adjust it based on FPS hit, but just about never run it at its highest.

I’m having far more fun with HDR than RTX recently, the difference can be quite brilliant.
